AP | Younger vets still struggling to find jobs despite improvements
The unemployment rate for veterans between 18 and 24 exceeded 20 percent last year. It was also in double digits for those 25-34. The unemployment rate for both age groups was higher than for their non-veteran peers and much higher than the national average. The job problems for younger vets have continued despite a wide range of private and public efforts. Comment: Significant gains in veteran's employment are more likely if the overall economy improves.

New York Times | Chinese Army Unit is seen tied to Hacking Against U.S.
In recent years the Chinese attacks have grown significantly, security researchers say, detecting more than 140 intrusions since 2006. Officials at the Chinese embassy in Washington again insisted that their government does not engage in computer hacking.

Richmond Times | Op-Ed | With spending & no budget, Washington is adrift
Welcome to the world of 21st century defense cuts, in which horrendously managed budget reductions are hamstringing our military's mission-readiness. Having served in the U.S. military, I'm concerned that it's only going to get worse. Comment: Tim Nank is the Virginia field director for Concerned Veterans for America
