Cold Mission...

It's outrageous that a cabal of activist environmental scientists and their enablers in the press have managed to suppress, slant, or ignore so many "inconvenient truths" that have discredited global warming allegations in recent years. The latest example was the way the media overlooked the obvious irony in the recent reports about ships caught in the ice in Antarctica. Apparently, certain details did not support the environmentalist agenda, so they went largely unreported, leaving most Americans in the dark about the mission of the expedition. Fortunately, a few reports revealed the facts, like the following Letter to the Editor in today's Fort Myers News-Press:

Cold Mission
(by Karen Anderson, Cape Coral)
"I doubt half of America knows the truth about the Australasian Antarctic Expedition lead by Chris Turney, a climate scientist, who was on a mission to reach the camp of Douglas Mawson, in search of evidence of the world's melting ice caps." (Most media reports implied that expedition members were just vacationers. I wonder why?)
"The ice was thicker than usual at this time of year (summer) and the ship has been wedged in the ice since Christmas Eve.
"Icebreaking ships, the Aurora Australis, the L'Astrolabe, and the Snow Dragon failed to reach them because the ice was too thick. Ironically, it was a fossil-fueled helicopter that lifted the 52 tourists and scientists to safety." (The major media were careful to ignore this harmless, but potentially embarrassing tidbit, which would have been pointed out by any honest journalist.)
"Add to that, that several "Global Warming/Climate Change" Summits have been scheduled by scientists in recent years, out to prove man is ruining the planet with fossil fuels. These conferences have been canceled, one after another, due to severe cold weather and blizzards.
"You gotta love God's sense of humor."

Of course, God doesn't depend on mankind's biased media outlets for information like we do.
We do know that Al Gore and his acolytes are determined to prove (and proselytize) that:
1. The earth is warming and that this is a bad thing (NOT NECESSARILY);
2. Warming is the fault of mankind's use of fossil fuels, rather than just part of a natural cycle repeated hundreds of times down through the eons of Earth's history;
3. That Number 2 is "settled science."  (BUT IT IS NOT. The opposite view is held by many, many respected scientists and free-thinking individuals.)
I am reminded of Galileo vs. the scientific community of his time.
