SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN !
SHERIFFJOE IS AT IT AGAIN !You mayremember Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona, whopainted the jail cells pink and made the inmateswear pink prison garb.Well.........SHERIFFJOE IS AT IT AGAIN !Oh, there's so MUCHmore to know about Sheriff Joe that themainstream media will not report !Maricopa County was spending approx. $18million dollars a year on stray animals, likecats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take thedepartment over, and the County Supervisors saidokay. The animal shelters are now allstaffed and operated by prisoners. They feed andcare for the strays. Every animal in his care istaken out and walked twice daily. He now hasprisoners who are experts in animal nutritionand behavior. They give great classes for anyonewho'd like to adopt an animal. He has literallytaken stray dogs off the street, given them tothe care of prisoners, and had them place in dogshows.Thebest part? His budget for the entire departmentis now under $3 million. Teresa and I adopted aWeimaraner from a Maricopa County shelter twoyears ago. He was neutered and current on allshots, in great health, and even had a microchipinserted the day we got him. Cost us $78.The prisoners get the benefit of about$0.28 an hour for working, but most would workfor free, just to be out of their cells for theday. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisonersout of the fees collected for adopted animals.I have long wondered when the rest ofthe country would take a look at the way he runsthe jail system and copy some of his ideas. Hehas a huge farm, donated to the county yearsago, where inmates can work, and they grow mostof their own fresh vegetables and food, doingall the work and harvesting by hand.Hehas a pretty good sized hog farm, which providesmeat and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmastree nursery, where prisoners work, and youcan buy a living Christmas tree for $6 - $8 forthe holidays and plant it later. We have sixtrees in our yard from the prison.Yup ,he was re-elected last year with 83% of thevote. Now he's in trouble with the ACLUagain. He painted all his buses and vehicleswith a mural that has a special hotline phonenumberpainted on it, where you can call and reportsuspected illegal aliens. Immigrations andCustoms Enforcement wasn't doing enough in hiseyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specificallyfor enforcing immigration laws, started up hishotline, and bought 4 new buses just for haulingfolks back to the border. He's kind of a'Git-R-Dun' kind of Sheriff.TO THOSE OFYOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO..HE ISTHE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFFANDHE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER ANDOVER.THISIS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY:Sheriff JoeArpaio (in Arizona) who created the 'Tent CityJail':** He has jail meals down to 40 centsa serving and charges the inmates for them.** He stopped smoking and porno magazines inthe jail.** Tookaway their weights.** Cut offall but 'G' movies.** He started chaingangs so the inmates could do free work oncounty and city projects.** Then he startedchain gangs for women so he wouldn't get suedfor discrimination.** He took awaycable TV until he found out there was a federalcourt order that required cable TV for jails, sohe hooked up the cable TVagain.....BUT only letin the Disney channel and the Weather channel.** When asked why the weather channel,he replied, "So they will know how hot it'sgonna be while they are working on my chaingangs."** He cut off coffee since ithas zero nutritional value.** When theinmates complained, he told them, "This isn'tThe Ritz/Carlton...... If you don't like it,don't come back."MoreOn The Arizona Sheriff:Withtemperatures being even hotter than usual inPhoenix (116 degrees just set a new record), theAssociated Press reports:About 2,000inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tentencampment at the Maricopa County jail have beengiven permission to strip down to theirgovernment-issuedpink boxer shorts. On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearingboxers were either curled up on their bunk bedsor chatted in the tents, which reached 138degrees inside the week before.Manywere also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweatcollected on their chests and dripped down totheir PINK SOCKS."It feels like we arein a furnace," said James Zanzot, an inmate whohas lived in the TENTS for 1 year. "It'sinhumane."Joe Arpaio, the tough-guysheriff who created the tent city and long agostarted making his prisoners wear pink and eatbologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. He told theinmates, "It's 120 degrees in Iraq and oursoldiers are living in tents too, and they haveto wear full battle gear, but they didn't commitany crimes, so shut your mouths!"Way togo, Sheriff !Maybe if all prisons werelike this one there would be a lot less crimeand/or repeat offenders. Criminals should bepunished for their crimes - not live in luxuryuntil it's time for their parole, only to go outand commit another crime so they can get back into live on taxpayers' money and enjoy thingstaxpayers can't afford to have for themselves.Ifyou agree, pass this on.Ifnot, just delete it......but why would you dothat
