Moonbeam, Progressives & California Wildlife’s...

PROGRESSIVES AND CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES On this solemn day when Borderline mass shooting hero Ventura County Sergeant Ron Helus is laid to rest, California Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown is participating in a photo-op at the nearby Woolsey fire. Of course, the governor continues to spout his global warming nonsense as if green energy and wealth distribution can stop or mitigate wildfires. Here is one simple solution… Using zoning restrictions and building codes to eliminate large palm trees that ignite like a match head and become ember factories that can project burning material for miles – allowing the fire to skip over fire lines and travel miles in minutes. Here is a thirty-plus foot palm tree with under-hanging dead material ready to spread deadly embers in the wind. If not for the wind direction, burning material from the nearby hill could have easily sent this tree up in flames and spread the destruction far and wide, forcing embers under the eaves of houses and into attics through ventilation grilles. (I am standing on my lawn when I took this picture.) Photo-3 A palm tree going up like a match head and showering the area with burning embers. Match Embers everywhere. Embers Bottom line… You can’t stop drought in Southern California which is essentially a dessert. You cannot stop the ferocious Santa Ana winds. But you can stop building dangerous homes in dangerous areas using zoning and building codes. We have brush clearance that must be completed before June 1st. We have fire resistant roofs. But we still get evacuated when the fire comes calling. -- steve
