Posted on Lee Healpark FB Page: Jm Moran Today at 1:13pm After hearing of the horrible treatment of a close friend and his elderly roommate at the Healthpark Rehabilitation Center took the opportunity to review the facility‘s numerous awards for diversity and CARF accreditation etc. Hospitals often strive for various diversity/feel good awards...losing focus on patient health and welfare. I am concerned that staffing, supervision & training are lacking. I advised both families to fully document their experiences and pictures may have been taken of the urine soaked towels between the bed and bathroom and the sores attributed to poorly wrapped leg bandages, bedsores, etc. His roommate received similar substandard care. When a complaint was lodged 2 nurses saw fit to verbally abuse my friend for complaining. Their Haitian/broken English was hard to understand but he got the message! Recently he was moved from the “Haitian Wing” into a private room and appears to be getting better treatment for now. Note: I have participated in numerous CARF & Joint Comission Inspections as a Director in the healthcare field.

Texas Speeding Ticket...

Texas Speeding Ticket Two Texas Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on Highway 77, just south of Kingsville, Texas. One of the officers was using a hand-held radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching the town of Kingsville. The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour and climbing. The officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then it suddenly turned off. cid:7celfeINUanKYS4oRYH4 Just then a deafening roar over the mesquite tree tops on Highway 77 revealed that the radar had in fact, locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet which was engaged in a low-flying exercise near its Naval Air home base location in Kingsville. Back at the Texas Highway Patrol Headquarters in Corpus Christi the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the U. S. Naval Base Commander in Kingsville for shutting down his equipment. The reply came back in true USMC style: "Thank you for your letter . . . "You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to, your hostile radar equipment and automatically sent a jamming signal back to it, which is why it shut down." "Furthermore, an air-to-ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked on to your equipment's location." "Fortunately, the marine pilot flying the Hornet recognized the situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile system alert status and was able to override the automated defense system before the missile was launched to destroy the hostile radar position on the side of Highway 77, south of Kingsville." "The pilot suggests you cover your mouths when swearing at them, since the video systems on these jets are very high tech." "Sergeant Johnson, the officer holding the radar gun, should get his dentist to check his left molar. It appears the filling is loose. Also, the snap is broken on his holster." Semper Fi TOP THIS ONE FOR A SPEEDING TICKET IN KINGSVILLE, TEXAS

Daily Stoic: “The Anvil Breakes the Hammer “

“In real life,” George Orwell observed, “it is always the anvil that breaks the hammer.” Yet we seem to think that we’re the exception to this rule. That if we just have enough energy, if we push hard enough, if we want it bad enough, we can do what everyone else has failed to do. That our force is enough to escape death, bad luck, ever having to accept things we don’t want to accept. Critics sometimes say that the Stoics were resigned, but they really weren’t. They were just realists. They understood what Orwell was saying, that the world is the anvil and we’re the hammer. If we’re persistent and resilient, we can use the hardness of the world to shape materials to our liking, but the anvil is a constant. It doesn’t break, but we certainly can.

C. Krauthammer: The Enemy Among US...

https://catholiccitizens.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Charles-Krauthammer-150x141.jpg The Enemy Amongst Us!! By Charles Krauthammer, March 6, 2018 An article from the New York Post: I do not understand how living in a country with its democracy established over 200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our former presidents set up a group called "Organizing for Action" (OFA). OFA is 30,000+ strong and working to disrupt everything that our current president's administration is trying to do. This organization goes against our Democracy, and it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago. If it is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going to be respected and allowed to follow our laws? If you had an army some 30,000 strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about to find out in America! Our ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration's top dogs over to Organizing for Action. OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance to the Trump Administration that we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing the leverage for this revolution. OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for "progressive" change... Its issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform. OFA members were propped up by the ex-president's message from the shadows: "Organizing is the building block of everything great we have accomplished Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2017 and beyond." OFA's website says it obtained its "digital" assets from the ex-president's re-election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it is the shadow government organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know as AMERICA. Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says, "The OFA will fight President Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House." Sperry writes that, "The ex-president is setting up a shadow government to sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide. The OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate that the OFA has 32,525 (and growing) volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his 'wife' will oversee the operation from their home/office in Washington DC. Think about how this works. For example: Trump issues an immigration executive order; the OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; the ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws; volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the leftist media springs to action in support of these activities; the twitter sphere lights up with social media; and violence follows. All of this happens from the ex-president's signal that he is heartened by the protests. If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has operated on for the last 241 years. If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know. So, do your part.. You have read it, so at least pass this on so others will know what we are up against. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are becoming a "PERFECT TARGET" for our enemy! Editor's comments: Krauthammer is about the best and brightest journalist and political analyst we have, in my opinion. His words of warning in the below message should be taken seriously and spread throughout the country so as many of our citizens as possible are made aware of what is happening right under our noses!

Today’s Stoic: “Responding to Stupid, Provocative Questions..and other NONSENSE!”...

An actual New Yorker headline from last week: "How Should We Think About Kanye West’s Tweets?" It’s an easy answer: Nothing. We should think nothing about them. Because they do not matter at all. (The only thing worse than the New Yorker headline was this Rolling Stone headline: "Why Kanye West's Pro-Trump Tweets Are a Real Threat.") C’mon, people. There are things to care about and there are things that don’t need to be cared about. The deliberately provocative—or possibly insane nonsense—tweets of a musician gearing up for an album launch? Not one of them. And they are definitely not a ‘threat’ to anything. The next time you see a headline in the news or a discussion topic on ESPN asking “What should we think about _____?” “What’s wrong with _______?” “What’s the right take on _____?” The answer is nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. The purpose of this kind of “news” isn’t to inform you, it’s to waste your time. In fact, it’s a trick that preys on your ego—ego that’s just as real and vain as Kanye West’s. Remember Epictetus: “If you wish to improve, be content to be seen as ignorant on certain matters.” Or better yet, “If you wish to get things done, to be happy, think deeply, and study philosophy, then don’t have an opinion about nonsense. Just ignore it.”

Daily Stoic: Today, let’s root ourselves in what’s real as McCollum does, not in emotions—positive or negative.

The Portland Trail Blazers star C.J. McCollum isn’t worried about a slump. He isn’t excited when he’s on a streak either. Because he seeks, as he’s said in interviews, to maintain the Stoic state of apatheia. “I live with the result, man. I know who I am. I know what I can be out there. I have confidence in myself. I don’t get discouraged over a few poor shooting nights. I don’t get overly excited over a few great shooting nights.’’ He wasn’t always that way, in the past he’s cried over missed free throws. He’s felt his ego bloom after wins. But with time, he’s come to believe that emotion doesn’t play a productive role in his game. Instead, he wants to focus on what’s real. As he told NBC Sports, emotions are unstable, statistics are facts. Today, let’s root ourselves in what’s real as McCollum does, not in emotions—positive or negative. Because when we can do that, we can have the confidence to not only to do our job well, but to, as C.J. has done, resist the temptations and distractions of wealth, of fame, of stress and everything else that stands between us and our happiness.

ICE arrests 33 with history of human rights violation across the US during Operation No Safe Haven IV Photos and b-roll available here WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations arrested 33 fugitives sought for their roles in known or suspected human rights violations during a nationwide operation this week. During the three-day operation that concluded Wednesday, the ICE National Fugitive Operations Program in coordination with the ICE Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center and the ICE National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center (NCATC), arrested these fugitives via the ICE field offices of Atlanta; Baltimore; Boston; Chicago; Denver; Detroit; Houston; Los Angeles; Miami; New Orleans; New York City; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Seattle; San Francisco; and St. Paul, Minnesota. The foreign nationals arrested during this operation all have outstanding removal orders and are subject to repatriation to their countries of origin. Of the 33 known or suspected human rights violators arrested during Operation No Safe Haven IV, eight individuals are also criminal aliens with convictions for crimes including, but not limited to battery, weapons offenses, driving while intoxicated, and resisting arrest. This operation surpassed the number of known or suspected human rights violators arrested during the first nationwide No Safe Haven operation, which took place in September 2014. “This operation continues ICE’s work to ensure that the United States does not serve as a safe haven for those who commit human rights violations in their countries of origin,” said Thomas D. Homan, Deputy Director of ICE. “We will continue to pursue these individuals as priorities for enforcement— using our agency’s unique authorities to investigate criminal activity and to enforce immigration laws.” Those arrested across the country included: Four Chinese individuals—some of whom were hospital employees—who assisted in or directly conducted forced abortions and sterilizations upon victims in China; A former intelligence officer who surveilled and arrested dozens of targets subsequently tortured in Central America; A soldier in Central America who guided the military to a specific village for the purpose of killing its residents; A ranking intelligence officer from the Middle East whose surveillance information led to the arrest, torture, and murder of those his unit targeted; A group leader in East Africa who used violence to force victims into Female Genital Mutilation. ICE is committed to rooting out known or suspected human rights violators who seek a safe haven in the United States. ICE's Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center investigates human rights violators who try to evade justice by seeking shelter in the United States, including those who are known or suspected to have participated in persecution, war crimes, genocide, torture, extrajudicial killings, and the use or recruitment of child soldiers. These individuals may use fraudulent identities or falsified records to enter the country and attempt to blend into communities in the United States. Members of the public who have information about foreign nationals suspected of engaging in human rights abuses or war crimes are urged to contact ICE by calling the toll-free ICE tip line at 1-866-347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. They can also email HRV.ICE@ice.dhs.gov or complete ICE’s online tip form. The HRVWCC was established in 2009 to further ICE’s efforts to identify, locate and prosecute human rights abusers in the United States, including those who are known or suspected to have participated in persecution, war crimes, genocide, torture, extrajudicial killings, female genital mutilation and the use or recruitment of child soldiers. The HRVWCC leverages the expertise of a select group of agents, lawyers, intelligence and research specialists, historians and analysts who direct the agency’s broader enforcement efforts against these offenders. Since 2003, ICE has arrested more than 395 individuals for human rights-related violations of the law under various criminal and/or immigration statutes. During that same period, ICE obtained deportation orders against and physically removed 835 known or suspected human rights violators from the United States. Additionally, ICE has facilitated the departure of an additional 112 such individuals from the United States. Currently, HSI has more than 130 active investigations into suspected human rights violators and is pursuing more than 1,750 leads and removals cases involving suspected human rights violators from 95 different countries. Since 2003, the HRVWCC has issued more than 74,000 lookouts for individuals from more than 110 countries and stopped over 234 human rights violators and war crimes suspects from entering the U.S. The NCATC provided critical investigative support for this operation, including criminal and intelligence analysis from a variety of sources. The NCATC provides comprehensive analytical support to aid the at-large enforcement efforts of all ICE components. ICE credits the success of this operation to the combined efforts of the U.S. National Central Bureau-Interpol Washington, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
