2012 College Football Preseason Top 25

Yeah, LSU Looked Awful Against 'Bama. But the Tigers are Still No. 1 for 2012.

The memory of LSU’s dreadful performance against Alabama lingers.

In that national title game, with everything on the line and everyone in the college football universe watching, the Tigers folded. They looked awful, to be perfectly honest with you.

And so now here we are, with that game still fresh in our collective college football memory, and we are supposed to believe (according to some, at least) that LSU should be taken seriously as a national title contender once again in 2012.

But are they? And if so, why? Well, find out here, in my college football Preseason Top 25 for the 2012 season.

1. LSU Tigers

Yeah, the Tigers were atrocious against ‘Bama. Yeah, they looked so completely inept that one might be left to wonder if there was more to this performance than just a proverbial bad day at the office. And yeah, it’s more than fair to ask if the memories of the defeat will haunt this bunch deep into next season. But then there’s this: Once again, Les Miles in 2012 will once again trot out one of the most talented, most athletic, most physical rosters in the nation. Some key pieces from that 2011 group are gone—quarterbacks Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson (who was particularly bad against ‘Bama) among them—but plenty others return, including the wonder that is Tyrann Mathieu. He’ll be the best player in the nation, and that’s always a good place to start.

2. Oregon Ducks

I considered putting the Ducks up at No. 1. I really did. You see, the way I figure, eventually Chip Kelly is going to figure out that while the fast-paced offense and the super-fast offensive stars and the lightning quick defensive backs are all well and good, you need more than just quick, and more than just fast, to win the national title. You need what LSU and Alabama have: Massive bodies up front. Oregon is inching ever closer to reigning supreme in college football. But looking at the lines, well, I just don’t think they’re there yet.

3. Alabama Crimson Tide

How can you possibly bet against Nick Saban? I mean, let’s face it: He has established himself as one of the greatest coaches the game of college football has ever seen, and if he’s proven anything during his remarkable stint at Alabama, it is that he does not need a whole lot of time to “rebuild.” Indeed, it would probably be fair to say that he doesn’t need to rebuild at all. While Saban will most certainly miss such 2011 stars as tailback Trent Richardson, you just know he’s got a wealth of talent waiting in the wings (no, I will not mention oversigning here). He always does. And beyond that, he’s the smartest guy in the room. As long as Saban stays in Tuscaloosa, the Tide are Top 5 material. Guaranteed.

4. Michigan Wolverines

There is a window of opportunity that will remain open in the Big Ten only until Urban Meyer fully establishes himself in the Buckeye state and inevitably goes about the work of dominating the conference like no man since the great Fielding Yost. The way I see it, that window of which I speak will remain open for about … a year. Which should provide just enough time for Brady Hoke to win one Big Ten crown before seeing his hopes dashed in every season that will follow. Denard Robinson may not be the perfect quarterback, but he’s certainly one of the best five players in the country, and the Michigan defense seems to be making enormous strides under the guidance of Greg Mattison. A return to glory—albeit a brief one—is imminent in Ann Arbor.

5. Boise State Broncos

I can hear your laughter and/or anguished cries of, “What on earth is he thinking?” from here. Yes, the Broncos lose everyone of note from last year’s outstanding squad, including some guy by the name of Kellen Moore, who may well be the most important player in program history. So perhaps it should be no surprise that so many are writing off the Broncos in 2012, and figuring that they won’t make their annual run at the BCS. Well, consider this: Chris Petersen is now 73-6 at Boise. He apparently turned down several top-level job offers to stay with the Broncos. Do you really think he just really likes the weather out there? Eleven wins, guaranteed.

6. USC Trojans

Every season has a cliché to call its own, and last year’s cliché-of-the-moment was couched in the idea that, at season’s end, there was no better team in the nation than USC. Which, of course, is a completely subjective and entirely unscientific statement. But no matter, the college football talking heads ate it up, leaving us to ponder the altogether unappetizing possibility that Lane Kiffin actually does know what he’s doing. And you know what? That might actually be true. Matt Barkley will return, as will a slew of returning starters on offense, and the Trojans will challenge the Ducks for Pac-12 supremacy. With a break or two, an undefeated regular season isn’t out of the possibility. And yes, I am talking about a Lane Kiffin-coached football team here.

7. Georgia Bulldogs

Hey, believe it or not, there actually is still something called the SEC East, and apparently, the winner of this little division still matters on the college football landscape; specifically, they get to serve as tackling dummies for the inevitably superior team that wins the SEC West. Anyway, I digress. While Florida and Georgia may pale in comparison to the power nexus over in the West, they are hardly pushovers, and Mark Richt’s bunch looks particularly promising for 2012. A guy who this time last year was supposedly on the hot seat will enter the season with the league’s best quarterback (Aaron Murray) and a great shot at the division crown.

8. Stanford Cardinal

One of the biggest surprises of the just-concluded recruiting season was the fact that, somehow and someway, coach David Shaw delivered a class for the Cardinal that some ranked among the Top 10 in the nation. That was a incredibly promising sign for a program that many had figured would head south almost immediately after the departure of former coach Jim Harbaugh. Yes, losing quarterback Andrew Luck will be a crushing blow, but Shaw has acquitted himself nicely thus far; it’s time to consider the possibility that Stanford might actually be here to stay.

9. Oklahoma Sooners

I said it last year and I’ll say it again: Bob Stoops has plateaued in Norman. The Sooners are a reliable Top 10 outfit these days, and that’s nothing to be ashamed about, but it seems fairly clear to me that this program isn’t what it once was in Stoops’ early 2000s heyday. Landry Jones will return next season, along with a host of other major contributors, so another 10-win season seems likely. But a national title run? Nope. Not until they fix that defense, which let them down big-time in 2011 (anybody remember that Baylor game?).

10. South Carolina Gamecocks

Probably because Steve Spurrier hasn’t actually won anything of great importance since taking over at South Carolina (yes, a division title is nice, but after all, it’s only a division title), it’s sometimes easy to forget what a remarkable job this guy has done down in Columbia. While it may be true to say that Lou Holtz did the hard work of laying the groundwork for a South Carolina revival, credit must be given to Spurrier for taking this program to a level it has rarely achieved during its long and mostly uninspired history. The Gamecocks may never be a true SEC power under Spurrier (or anybody else, for that matter), but what they are these days is this: A tough out, one of the top two or three teams in the East, and, all of a sudden, a legitimate Top 15 program. That’s what they’ll be once again in 2012, with monster tailback Marcus Lattimore leading the way.

Minorities are Window Dressing for the Democrats

Los Angeles Democrat Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa accused Republicans of using Hispanic speakers during their convention as “window dressing.”
Liberals are all about window dressing. Once you get inside the store, the shelves are bare or stocked with worn out political clichés and empty promises. This is especially true when it comes to minorities.
Liberals work hard to get minorities to the polls to vote so the liberal establishment can stay in power, but Liberals are reluctant to give minorities enough power to govern themselves. If the word gets out that a minority can be independent of government, then it might get back to other “brown skin” people that they can do it too. When this happens, the Democrat Party is finished.
There are a number of articles floating around on the Internet about how few black and brown faces there were among the Republican delegates. Michelle Malkin, something of a brown face herself, tweeted the following:

SHAME SHAME SHAME on all you racist progs playing the #negrospotting game. Dear God, you people are sick.

Of course there aren’t that many black Republican delegates; they’re mostly liberal Democrat field hands that do the bidding of their Democrat masters. Every two years, Democrats rent a cadre of black- and brown-face voters for an election telling them that their only hope is to vote for them, and they do it, even though most Hispanics and Blacks have more in common with Republican principles.
Colby King, a columnist for the Washington Post, said Republicans “always have African-Americans on the [convention] podium. Either it’s somebody singing ‘God Bless America,’ or praying, you know, before or after.” Let’s put this claim to the test:

By the way, the Republicans had a white guy pray at the end of the convention, the same white guy who’s going to pray at the Democrat National Convention — Roman Catholic Cardinal Timothy Michael Dolan of New York who I hope will denounce the DNC’s platform for supporting abortion on demand and homosexual marriage, two issues that most brown- and black-faced people abhor.

last 19 presidents! And these people are trying to tell our big
corporations how to run their business?

How can the president of a major nation and society, the one
with the most successful economic system in world history, stand
and talk about business when he's never worked for one? Or about
jobs when he has never really had one? And when it's the same for
92% of his senior staff and closest advisers? They've spent most of
their time in academia, government and/or non-profit jobs or as
"community organizers." They should have been in an employment line.

Pass this on because we'll NEVER see these facts in the main
stream media.

These Billboards will be going up on an electronic billboard on HWY 321 in Lenoir City , TN starting 1 OCT. It was a private project funded by private donations. It will be fun to see what the reaction will be. The ads will start to run October 1. (The only thing that is missing from the ads is the "Paid for by" disclaimer, but that will be in very small print). We must strive to have thousands of voters look at our billboard messages by email and any other electronic means. I hope these messages will be seen by the entire country before November 2. =

A Week of Bill Nye the Humanist Guy Posted: 01 Sep 2012 08:39 AM PDT Recently  a video on YouTube entitled “Creationism is inappropriate for children” was produced by Bill Nye (known as “Bill Nye the Science Guy” from television) and it received over 3 million views—and gained much publicity through the secular media. AiG responded to Nye’s anti-creationist video with a detailed article on the AiG website and also two videos on YouTube.  In one video, I decided to personally respond and with the title “Bill Nye the Humanist Guy.”  Bill Nye was given the humanist of the year award in 2010 and  has a definite anti-God agenda.  So it should not be surprising to anyone that he would come out with such a blast at those who don’t teach children evolution as fact—as he wants to see happen. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this anti-creation video has been posted as Bill Nye has a new video show coming on YouTube.  I’m sure he and those producing his new show realized that if they came out against creationists, particularly in regard to the teaching of children, they would get all sorts of publicity leading up to their new show. Can a designated Iranian terrorist group (MEK) purchase the support of notable Americans to champion their cause? Posted: 31 Aug 2012 03:26 PM PDT It has been often said that everything in Washington is for sale and that which is not for sale can be leased … What do the following individuals have in common? Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey Former Congressman Patrick Kennedy (Rhode Island) Noted Author Carl Bernstein; Former Governor Howard Dean (Vermont) Former Governor Ed Rendell (Pennsylvania) Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert (Illinois) Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani (New York) Retired General Henry Shelton Retired General George Casey Retired Lieutenant General David Deptula Former FBI director Louis Freeh <Source> It appears that they are all attempting to informally lobby government officials by “questioning the listing of an obscure Iranian group called the Mujahadin-e Khalq (MEK) on the U.S. government list of officially designated foreign terrorist organizations.” Some of these people I formerly respected as incorruptible or patriotic. Now I can see they are money-grubbing whores who are willing to challenge the intelligence agencies of the United States for their personal benefit and profit. I am thoroughly disgusted by the democrats and the republicans on this list. As for the journalists who purport to be unbiased, it is just another sign of the loss of journalistic ethics and the support of a cause that is alien to the American dream. How is it that any Americans want to assist any Iranian group? At least according to Bernstein: “The speech, before a crowd an organizer put at 1,500, made Bernstein one of the few journalists who has appeared at events in a years-long campaign by MEK supporters to free the group from the official terrorist label and the legal sanctions that come with it. He told ProPublica that he was paid $12,000 for the appearance but that, ‘I was not there as an advocate.’” Then: “Bernstein told the crowd that, ‘I come here as an advocate of the best obtainable version of the truth’ and as ‘someone who believes in basic human rights and their inalienable status.’ He alsochallenged the State Department, saying that if the agency ‘has evidence that the MEK is a terrorist organization, have a show-cause hearing in court, let them prove it.’” Bernstein's speech, reprinted on the websiteof another pro-MEK group under the title "The Kafkaesque Nature of Things," compared the presence of the MEK on the terrorist list to hisparents' experience belonging to a group that was on a U.S. government list of subversive organizations during the McCarthy era. “So I know, like you, what it means to be designated a certain way and your cause and your purpose misunderstood, twisted, and turned into something that it is not," he said. "When, in fact, the evil, the terrorism, the real terrorism, is in the heart of Tehran, not in this room." In an interview, Bernstein told ProPublica that the pro-MEK events are “obviously … part of a lobbying campaign” but his speech  was “largely about using the designation of terrorist and subversive organizations as a smokescreen for other things.” He said that stories focusing on speakers at pro-MEK events rather than on “the substance of what the controversy is” amounted to “journalistic McCarthyism.” <Source> Was it for the money or because liberals are soft on national defense and constitutionally (pun) and prone to serve as useful idiots for foreign sovereign causes? For example, former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democrat, received $160,000 for appearing at seven pro-MEK rallies and conferences, his office confirmed  to NBC in March. Each event typically involves five to 10 former officials who speak in favor of removing the group from the terrorist list. The typical fee for a speaker at one of the events has been in the $20,000 range, according to news reports. Pro-MEK groups are thought to have spent millions of dollars on the events in recent years. <Source> What happened to one working journalist is a cautionary tale of how America may be subverted from within … ProPublica reported in July that syndicated columnist Clarence Page had spoken at a large rally in Paris featuring MEK leader Maryam Rajavi; after we reached out to Page, he said he would reimburse his $20,000 speaker’s fee, and the Chicago Tribune reprimanded him  for violating the company ethics code. <Source> Here is a person who can slant stories and spin the truth … and he is being paid a great sum of money to advocate for a group that is listed by the United States government as a terrorist group. Why wasn’t he sanctioned by the government for providing aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States? Or is the liberal dominated Justice Department, headed by Eric Holder, too busy killing all of the pesky state legislation that protects the Constitution and the sovereignty of the United States? Is Iran our enemy? In the past few years, pro-MEK groups have marshaled considerable financial resources to bring high-profile speakers to an unending stream of rallies and other events in the U.S. and Europe. The pro-MEK campaign has taken on new prominence against the backdrop of thenuclear standoff involving the U.S., Israel and Iran, whose government is a sworn enemy of the MEK. The group, sometimes described as cult-like by critics, is blamed by the State Departmentfor killing Americans in several attacks in Iran in the 1970s and in attacking Iranian targets through the early 2000s. The MEK now says it has renounced violence and has sued to be removed from the terrorist list. The public push in the U.S. is notable both because it has brought together a large bipartisan group of former top military officials and veteran politicians from both parties and also because of the large sums of money paid for those appearances. <Source> My question … Is this MEK group spinning themselves an an anti-Iran freedom fighting group to allow them to be removed from the terrorist watch list and the sanctions which would keep them from purchasing “dual use” technology or other materials that would bring aid and comfort to Iran? It would not be the first time that a front group did whatever was necessary for their cause. Bottom line … It is obvious, even to the casual observer that something evil is happening to our country. Pro-Marxist/Communist groups have subverted the political process, mostly involving the democrat party, and that rampant political corruption is going unchecked. Prominent politicians and others are openly espousing causes which, only a few decades ago, would have been regarded as enemies and such advocacy tantamount to sedition and/or treason. We see major United States Corporations using foreign subsidiaries to “fullfill long existing contracts” with our enemies. According to Bill O’Reilly of Fox News, General Electric, the parent company of NBC, is doing business with Iran. Iran is listed as a state that sponsors terrorism, and the Pentagon has confirmed that Iranian weapons are being used to kill Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan.A former NBC correspondent John Hockenberry says that GE continues to do business with Iran. CEO Jeffrey Immelt said in a statement, “It is unfortunate that John Hockenberry seems to be so far out of touch with reality. The comments are so utterly absurd; we will have no further comment.” But then O’Reilly pursues the story and gets astatement from GE, saying it no longer does business with Iran, except fulfilling past contracts and humanitarian stuff. But O’Reilly finds out that through subsidiaries, GE is working with the Iranian government on hydroelectric, oil and gas, and medical projects. <Source> We need to reform our government and the way our multi-national corporations do business. We cannot impose sanctions against an enemy and have them violated by a foreign subsidiary of any American company. Perhaps why so many companies are now incorporated in the Bahamas. Switzerland and elsewhere. And we need to start right now in 2012 by removing President Obama and his fellow travelers from power in the Presidency, the Senate and the House of Representatives. We need to shut the revolving door between government and law firms known to be lobbyists for foreign powers. We need to put country over compromise, manhood over money. It is time to take action at the voting booths. Unhappy Muslims   What can be done about it? I have to admit, this is brilliant...never heard it put this way...so succinct and to the point...plain and simple!!! Whoever thought this out is nothing less than a genius THE MUSLIMS ARE NOT HAPPY! They're not happy in Gaza .. They're not happy in Egypt .. They're not happy in Libya .. They're not happy in Morocco .. They're not happy in Iran .. They're not happy in Iraq .. They're not happy in Yemen .. They're not happy in Afghanistan .. They're not happy in Pakistan .. They're not happy in Syria .. They're not happy in Lebanon .. SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY? They're happy in Australia . They're happy in Canada. They're happy in England .. They're happy in France .. They're happy in Italy .. They're happy in Germany .. They're happy in Sweden .. They're happy in the USA .. They're happy in Norway .. They're happy in Holland . They're happy in Denmark . Basically, they're happy in every country that is not Muslim and unhappy in every country that is! AND WHO DO THEY BLAME? Not Islam. Not their leadership. Not themselves.
