Windfall Tax on Retirement Income Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying.. Read below................ Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this. Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas , it is true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities! This woman is frightening. She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' (I am not rich, are you?) When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: 'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.' (Read that quote again and again and let it sink in. 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'. Send it on to your friends. I just did!! This lady is out of her mind and she is the speaker of the house!

The case against Michael Flynn was a “failed coup d’etat” of President Donald Trump, noted conservative author David Horowitz told Newsmax TV on Friday. In an interview on “The Chris Salcedo Show,” Horowitz decried the prosecution of the former general — and noted the Department of Justice’s announcement it was dropping the criminal case against Flynn showed the underpinnings of it have now collapsed. “That’s a failed coup d’etat,” Horowitz said. Horowitz is a New York Times bestselling author and his latest book, “Blitz: Trump Will Smash the Left and Win” is to be released in June. “He was incoming national security adviser to the president,” Horowitz explained. “He had a phone call with the Russian ambassador. Nobody knows what's in the phone call — they suppress that. “But there were 38 or 39 members of the old Obama and White House administration that wanted to unmask him, then leaked the fact that he was being spied on [to] the Washington Post,” he said. When national security officials seek to reveal the identity of people who had conversations subject to government surveillance it’s called “unmasking.” “The whole Russia hoax began” as a result, Horowitz said. Attorney General William Barr has questioned events at the core of the case against Flynn -- his interactions with a Russian ambassador — and said he felt those conversations were within the scope of Flynn's duties during the transition from one White House administration to the next.

New Nuclear Threats to the U.S.: Better to Deter Them or Play Dead? by Peter Huessy • May 14, 2020 at 4:00 am At present, exactly zero percent of America's nuclear platforms are modernized. Worse, when, in 2017, General Hyten... warned of the Russian threat, a common counter-narrative in the U.S. arms control community – and shared by some members of Congress -- was that simply by proposing to modernize a then-rusting nuclear deterrent, the United States was "leading an arms race." Even these critics, however, had to know that it takes years to research, develop, test, and then build highly complex nuclear forces, so that no new U.S. nuclear deployments would even be able to start until 2029. Russia has already completed 87% of its arms race while the US is just putting on its track shoes. The door to an arms race was opened long ago -- but by Russia, not the United States. Without nuclear modernization, unfortunately, the United States cannot keep a credible nuclear deterrent against its nuclear armed enemies -- not only Russia but also China, whose nuclear arsenal is scheduled to double in the next decade, according to the Defense Intelligence Agency. The current U.S. administration inherited a nuclear deterrent 40-50 years old. Its submarines had first been deployed in 1981, its B-52 bomber cruise missiles in 1982, and its Minuteman land-based missiles in 1970. Pictured: The ballistic missile nuclear submarine USS Rhode Island. (Image source: U.S. Navy photo by Lt. Rebecca Rebarich) Now that 184 countries are grappling with the medical and economic convulsions of China's CCP coronavirus that seems to have originated in a bio-warfare laboratory in Wuhan, what other catastrophes might be headed our way, especially ones we have been forewarned about? What if America's adversaries might start to believe that because the US has a Covid-19 crisis on its hands, the nation might be distracted and vulnerable, so that now might be a good time to strike? If such adversaries think the US does not have a strong deterrent, does that make it an even more tempting target? Last month, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said that by the end of 2020, Russia will have modernized 87% of its nuclear arsenal, up from its current 82%. Many Americans might shrug it off and say that the Russians are simply being their normal selves, just like the Soviets, year after year, building and modernizing their nuclear weapons. China's Coronavirus: How the EU is Betraying Europe by Con Coughlin • May 14, 2020 at 5:00 Chinese ambassadors, particularly those based in Western capitals, simply resort to blackmail, threatening to deny governments vital medical supplies to cope with the pandemic if they do not comply with Beijing's wishes. All these countries have good reason to want to stand their ground against Beijing. Italy has been the target of a skilful fake news campaign by Beijing with cleverly edited videos that show Italians showing their gratitude for China's help in the pandemic when no such demonstrations took place. The French government was outraged after the Chinese embassy in Paris accused French care-workers of abandoning their posts, thereby causing elderly residents to die; while Germany has complained that Chinese diplomats tried to pressure officials to make positive statements on how Beijing was handling the coronavirus pandemic. As the EU, by constantly capitulating to Beijing's demands, has shown it is totally incapable of protecting the interests of member states, the governments of Europe are finally waking up to the reality that, in order to defend themselves against China's bully-boy tactics, they will have to look after themselves. The latest capitulation by the European Union in the face of Chinese intimidation demonstrates that, when it comes to protecting the interests of member states, the Brussels bureaucracy is no match for Beijing's new breed of warrior diplomats. Pictured: China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi at EU headquarters in Brussels, on December 17, 2019. (Photo by John Thys/AFP via Getty Images) The latest capitulation by the European Union in the face of Chinese intimidation demonstrates that, when it comes to protecting the interests of member states, the Brussels bureaucracy is no match for Beijing's new breed of warrior diplomats. Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, one of the more notable features of China's response has been the willingness of senior Chinese diplomats to intervene forcibly in defence of China's interests. The interventions of these "Wolf Warrior" diplomats, so-called after a series of iconic Chinese action movies in which Chinese special forces vanquish their American foes, take several forms. On one level, Chinese ambassadors, particularly those based in Western capitals, simply resort to blackmail, threatening to deny governments vital medical supplies to cope with the pandemic if they do not comply with Beijing's wishes. Daily Stoic: My North Star is pictured below. jm It’s easy to get busy and get pulled off course by life. The emails come in and you get distracted. You’re in the middle of a big, long project and other parts of your routine suffer. The mood and the actions of the crowd can seduce and tempt us—we are all influenced by the tempo of our times. So it’s key then, if you want to be good and do good, that you have a kind of North Star in your life that keeps you centered. A role model who draws you back on course when the events of life or the drift of inertia subtly misdirect you. As Seneca wrote to a friend who’d asked for advice: Choose someone whose way of life as well as words, and whose very face as mirroring the character that lies behind it, have won your approval. Be always pointing him out to yourself either as your guardian or as your model. There is a need, in my view, for someone as a standard against which our characters can measure themselves. Without a ruler to do it against you won’t make crooked straight. Who is your North Star? Who is the ruler you measure yourself against? This is an urgent question that must be answered. And when you have a name, the next question is how are you reminding yourself of their example, how are you keeping their memory and inspiration alive to you on a constant basis? Because it should be something—a tattoo, a photo, a statue displayed on your desk. Whatever. You must always be pointing them out to yourself, as Seneca said. You must always be asking yourself how they would behave, what they would expect of you. You must strive and struggle to live up to their standard. It won’t be easy, but it’s better and safer than drifting. The stakes are too high to wing it.

Lebanese Zugzwang and Harlequin's Choice by Amir Taheri • May 10, 2020 at 4:00 It may be a cliché to suggest that Lebanon is meant to be a Middle Eastern Switzerland, just as Uruguay is a haven of peace in South America, Singapore in Asia and Austria in Central Europe. Whenever Lebanon played that role it thrived. Whenever it diverged from that role, or was pushed out of it by foreign powers, it suffered. To Ayatollah Ali Yunesi, an adviser to President Hassan Rouhani [of Iran], Beirut is one of four Arab capitals that "we now control." Lebanon's interests today do not coincide with those of Iran. Lebanon needs stability and peace to revive its economy by attracting foreign investment, reviving tourism and developing itself as a service-based hub for international trade and high-tech industries. In contrast, Iran, as a revisionist power seeking to reshape the Middle East if not the whole world, thrives on tension and conflict. One master wants Lebanon to be a beach, the other sees it as a bunker. In real life, as opposed to theater, at some point Harlequin must choose. As Lebanese protests continue, albeit with varying degrees of intensity, speculation over what has caused the current crisis is also rife. The list of woes that afflict Lebanon is long. Pictured: A protest against dwindling economic conditions in Lebanon, in the northern port city of Tripoli, on May 3, 2020. (Photo by Ibrahim Chalhoub/AFP via Getty Images) As Lebanese protests continue, albeit with varying degrees of intensity, speculation over what has caused the current crisis is also rife. The list of woes that afflict Lebanon is long. There is a banking crisis caused by a Ponzi-like scheme introduced by the Central Bank three years ago to attract foreign money. Recent falls in the price of oil have led to a sharp drop on remittances by Lebanese working in oil-rich countries but building their egg-nests back home. A bloated civil service, created by politicians trying to buy votes or curry favor with their respective sects by inventing unnecessary jobs, is becoming too costly for an ailing economy. Corruption, the bane of many developing nations, has gone beyond the limits of an aberration to become almost a way of life. Add to all that a prolonged political crisis caused by the way the sectarian system distributes power and one would have a perfect storm. Continue Reading Article

Coronavirus: More Abuse of Christians by Raymond Ibrahim • May 10, 2020 at 4:30 "The Christian man said he begged for food to no avail. Farooq Masih, a 54-year-old Christian in Korangi, said that last Saturday, Abid Qadri, a member of Saylani Welfare, with other NGO members, handed out food cards in his area. But, when they got to Christian homes, they just moved on." — Shafique Khokhar, AsiaNews.it, March 30, 2020 Millions of Christians living in northern Nigeria's Kaduna State, "report they get six times smaller rations from the state than Muslim families. Believers we talked to shared that a Christian family of four receives a grossly inadequate ration of a single packet of noodles and one small plate of uncooked rice." — Open Doors, April 17, 2020. The situation for sub-Saharan Christians is further exacerbated by "[s]pecific targeting by Islamic radical groups like Boko Haram, ISIS, Fulani militants and the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) across the region has displaced many thousands of Christians." Such Christians are now living in crowded and hard to reach refugee camps where they are "suffer[ing] intensely without water, sanitation and hygiene," making them extra susceptible to contracting the deadly virus. At a time when COVID-19 is showing the best of people -- countless doctors, nurses, health care providers, truckers, philanthropic institutions and churches in America have stepped up beyond the call of duty, and certainly without consideration for things like race or religion -- in much of the world, COVID-19 has merely occasioned more of the usual: hate for and persecution of supposedly contemptible "infidels," particularly Christians. According to a March 30 report, the Saylani Welfare International Trust in Karachi, Pakistan refused to give to food aid to poor Hindus and Christians, saying that only Muslims are entitled to receive their food packages. Pictured: Food aid distribution by Saylani, on March 30, 2020. (Photo by Rizwan Tabassum/AFP via Getty Images) Reports have appeared in recent weeks indicating that the coronavirus is furnishing a new pretext in the Islamic word to discriminate against, and even persecute, religious minorities, chiefly Christians. According to an April 29 report, "in countries such as Ethiopia Christians are denied the resources of the community, which is mainly composed of Muslims. These minorities are excluded from society, making it difficult to provide them with help or support." A separate report notes that in Muslim-majority Uzbekistan, Christians "have been denied aid because of their religion." Pakistan, as usual, offers several examples. According to a March 30 report: "A Karachi NGO has denied food aid to poor Hindus and Christians, who like Muslims are suffering from coronavirus.... "The Saylani Welfare International Trust has been operating in the Korangi area since 1999, handing out aid and meals to homeless people and seasonal workers. Continue Reading Article

Italy: China's Trojan Horse into Europe by Giulio Meotti • May 10, 2020 at 5:00 am Chinese leaders "believe they have a narrow window of strategic opportunity to strengthen their rule and revise the international order in their favor". — Former U.S. National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster, Battlegrounds: The Fight to Defend the Free World. "Europe has now become the buffer zone for the confrontation between China and the United States". — Pierre-Henri d'Argenson, Le Figaro, April 28, 2020. Now, China is trying to dominate southern Europe's infrastracture. China was already granted a license to run Greece's largest seaport, Athens' Piraeus harbor, which Beijing plans to turn into Europe's biggest commercial harbor. Then China started to project its expansion in Italy's ports, where four major ports are also in line for Chinese investments. The People's Bank of China... "has steadily amassed stakes above 2 percent (the disclosure threshold in Italy) in a slew of Italy's largest shareholder-owned companies" China has also invested in strategic Italian energy entities.... This economic penetration will also have immense security consequences... Italy, which is being lured by the promise of a $3 billion Huawei investment in its telecommunications system, announced that it has no plans to stop Chinese telecom firms playing a role in the country's future 5G network. It is a project that U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr defined a "monumental danger". Italy will see a collapse of its GDP and the explosion of its public debt... the highest since World War II. Beijing knows this and claims that "Italy has many economic problems, Europe is in crisis and the Belt and Road Initiative is the only major global investment plan". Italy's foreign minister, Luigi Di Maio, welcomed a plane-load of Chinese medical supplies on March 12. "We will remember those who were close to us in this difficult period", Di Maio said. It is not necessary, China will remind them. Pictured: Di Maio shows a map of quarantined Italian municipalities as he gives a press conference in Rome, on February 27, 2020. (Photo by Tiziana Fabi/AFP via Getty Images) A few days after China had announced it was sending medical supplies to Italy, Chinese state media aired pictures of Italians on balconies and streets applauding the Chinese national anthem. "In Rome, with the Chinese anthem playing, some Italians chanted 'Grazie, Cina!' on their balconies, & their neighbors applauded along", wrote Zhao Lijian, the spokesman for China's foreign ministry who shamefully and wrongly suggested that the U.S. military had brought the Covid-19 to Wuhan. China presented itself in the role of the savior, willing to rush to the bedside of the sick patient Italy. Now a Financial Times investigation reveals that those videos were manipulated as part of Beijing's coronavirus propaganda. Hashtags #ThanksChina and #GoChina&Italy were further generated by bots. A report by the Carnegie Endowment called Italy "a target destination for China's propaganda". Continue Reading Article

Maybe we don't have it that bad. It’s a mess out there now. Hard to discern between what’s a real threat and what is just simple panic and hysteria. For a small amount of perspective at this moment, imagine you were born in 1900. On your 14th birthday, World War I starts and ends on your 18th birthday. 22 million people perish in that war. Later in the year, a Spanish Flu epidemic hits the planet and runs until your 20th birthday. 50 million people die from it in those two years. Yes, 50 million. On your 29th birthday, the Great Depression begins. Unemployment hits 25%, the World GDP drops 27%. That runs until you are 33. The country nearly collapses along with the world economy When you turn 39, World War II starts. You aren’t even over the hill yet. And don’t try to catch your breath. On your 41st birthday, the United States is fully pulled into WWII. Between your 39th and 45th birthday, 75 million people perish in the war. Smallpox was epidemic until you were in your 40’s, as it killed 300 million people during your lifetime. At 50, the Korean War starts. 5 million perish. From your birth, until you are 55 you dealt with the fear of Polio epidemics each summer. You experience friends and family contracting polio and being paralyzed and/or die. At 55 the Vietnam War begins and doesn’t end for 15 years. 4 million people perish in that conflict. During the Cold War, you lived each day with the fear of nuclear annihilation. On your 62nd birthday, you have the Cuban Missile Crisis, a tipping point in the Cold War. Life on our planet, as we know it, almost ended. When you turn 75, the Vietnam War finally ends. Think of everyone on the planet born in 1900. How did they endure all of that? When you were a kid in 1985 and didn’t think your 85-year-old grandparent understood how hard school was. And how mean that kid in your class was. Yet they survived through everything listed above. Perspective is an amazing art. Refined and enlightening as time goes on. Let’s try and keep things in perspective. Your parents and/or grandparents were called to endure all of the above – you are called to stay home and sit on your couch!!!
