Yesterday the House of Representatives voted to defund ObamaCare while providing funding for a new Continuing Resolution to keep the government running by a 230-189 margin.

Dear Patriot,

Yesterday the House of Representatives voted to defund ObamaCare while providing funding for a new Continuing Resolution to keep the government running by a 230-189 margin. 

 

I commend Speaker Boehner and the House leadership for choosing to do the right thing and for bringing this measure to the floor for a vote.  As an important by-product of this vote, the rank-and-file Republican membership praised the Speaker and a crisis of leadership in the House GOP has been averted.

 

The next stop for the CR is the United States Senate, where procedural maneuvers to take up the bill will begin on Monday. 

 

The bill could be back in the House as early as next Wednesday depending on a number of factors.  Whatever happens, we can expect the battle of rhetoric to escalate dramatically as a monumental clash of worldviews takes center stage.

Liberty Counsel Action distinguished itself this week in our ongoing war against ObamaCare! 

 

Liberty Counsel Action team members were responsible for sending 65,769 faxes to Capitol Hill over the past week! 

 

Our impact was felt throughout the halls of Congress! 

 

Here are reasons why LCA’s actions were so important… 

 

While the leftists were demonizing and mocking those of us calling for a “Defund ObamaCare” vote in the House of Representatives, LCA members were exercising their right of access to elected officials.  The LCA team’s impact was a “real-time” game changer! 

 

While the liberal media was telling Americans that the House vote was a waste of time, LCA was telling our congressional representatives to bring the “Defund ObamaCare” measure to the floor and vote on it. 

 

While spineless members of Congress whose constituents overwhelmingly disapprove of ObamaCare wanted to avoid being put on the record, LCA helped force them to face the fact that “If you vote to fund it, you own it”!

 

And while President Obama and his co-conspirators in fraudulently passing ObamaCare are claiming “it’s the law of the land” and telling the American people to “just move on,” LCA was telling them… “you may have won a battle, but the war wages on.”  

 

Liberty Counsel Action will be now be aggressively calling for defund votes in the Senate, and back in the House when the battle returns there later next week! 

 

I believe that this bipartisan victory to derail ObamaCare in the House will put added pressure on the Senate to have a similar up or down vote.  We will be scoring and publishing these votes in our Congressional Scorecard before the next election cycle. 

 

We will not give up this fight! ObamaCare needs to be stricken from the laws of our land and replaced with a free-market based, patient-centered healthcare program. 

 

As this battle moves to the Senate and then back to the House again next week, I hope we can count on you to stand with Liberty Counsel Action in this crucially important, ongoing fight!
