GOP, Show That You Can Govern Seize the day and control the Adgenda .....We will be watching you!!!

Memo to the GOP. You had a great night on Tuesday. But remember: You didn’t win it; the Democrats lost it.

This is not to say that you didn’t show discipline in making the election a referendum on six years of Barack Obama. You exercised adult supervision over the choice of candidates. You didn’t allow yourselves to go down the byways of gender and other identity politics.

It showed: A gain of probably nine Senate seats, the largest Republican House majority in more than 80 years, and astonishing gubernatorial victories, including Massachusetts, Maryland, and Illinois, the bluest of the blue, giving the lie to the Democrats’ excuse that they lost because the game was played on Republican turf.

The defeat — “a massacre,” The Economist called it — marks the final collapse of Obamaism, a species of left-liberalism so intrusive, so incompetently executed, and ultimately so unpopular that it will be seen as a parenthesis in American political history. Notwithstanding Obama’s awkward denials at his next-day news conference, he himself defined the election when he insisted just last month that “these [i.e. his] policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.”

They were, and America spoke. But it was a negative judgment, not an endorsement of the GOP. The prize for winning is nothing but the opportunity for Republicans to show that they can govern — the opportunity to seize the national agenda.

Five weeks ago, I suggested a series of initiatives that would be like the 1994 “Contract with America,” but this time post facto. It’s not rocket science. Mitch McConnell, the incoming Senate majority leader, and House speaker John Boehner are already at work producing such an agenda.

It needs to be urgent, determined, and relentless — say, a bill a week for the first ten weeks. Start with obvious measures that have significant Democratic support, like the Keystone XL pipeline. Another such measure is fast-track trade-negotiation authority, which Harry Reid killed and Obama, like all presidents, wants. Republicans should propose and pass it, thereby giving Obama a victory and demonstrating both bipartisanship and magnanimity (as well as economic good sense).

Then a simple, targeted bill to repatriate the $2 trillion of assets being held by U.S. corporations overseas, a bill to authorize and expedite the export of liquid natural gas and crude oil (the latter banned by an obsolete 1975 law), and a strong border-security bill.

As for Obamacare, a symbolic abolition that Obama will immediately veto is less important than multiple rapid-fire measures to kill it with a thousand cuts: Repeal of the medical-device tax, repeal of the individual mandate, repeal of the employer mandate, repeal of the coverage mandate (thereby reinstating Obama’s broken promise that “if you like your health-care plan, you can keep it”), and repeal of the federal bailout for insurers on the Obamacare exchanges.

If Obama issues vetoes, fine. Let the Democrats defend them for the next two years.

Then go big and go positive: A sweeping reform of the tax system, both corporate and individual, abolishing loopholes and lowering rates, like the historic 1986 Reagan-O’Neill reform or Obama’s own abandoned Simpson-Bowles commission. And go large: Invite the other side into immediate negotiations with the aim of producing a tax bill by spring.

How will Obama react? My guess: With the petulance and denial he displayed in his post-election news conference. Moreover, he will try to regain control of the national agenda with executive amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Final memo to the GOP: That would be naked impeachment bait. Don’t take it. Use the power of the purse to defund it. Pledge immediate repeal if Republicans take the White House in 2017. Denounce it as both unconstitutional and bad policy. But don’t let it overwhelm and overtake the GOP agenda. That’s exactly what Obama wants. It is his only way to regain the initiative.

The 2014 election has given the GOP the rare opportunity to retroactively redeem its brand. The conventional perception, incessantly repeated by Democrats and the media, is that Washington dysfunction is the work of the Party of No. Expose the real agent of do-nothing. Show that with Harry Reid no longer able to consign House-passed legislation to oblivion, Congress can actually work.

Pass legislation. When Obama signs, you’ve shown seriousness and the ability to govern. When he vetoes, you’ve clarified the differences between party philosophies and prepared the ground for 2016.

Tuesday’s victory was big. But it did nothing more than level the playing field and give you a shot. Take it.

I don’t think we’ve ever gone to the animal kingdom to make a point about firearms ownership, but here goes. In the above video we see a well armed porcupine going up against a pride of 17 lions. The fearless rodent has extreme confidence even when outnumbered by larger, faster, stronger adversaries, all because he […]

Let’s see isn’t there a current discussion going on about guns in grocery stores? Oh, yeah. Moms Demand Action likes to claim that no one needs a gun while grocery shopping and is trying to push super market giant Kroger into banning the legal carry of firearms in their stores. Who died before they collected Social Security?

KEEP PASSING THIS AROUND UNTIL
EVERY ONE HAS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO READ IT...
THIS IS SURE SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT!!!!

THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE
GOVERNMENT'S CALCULATION OF AVAILABLE SOCIAL SECURITY IS THEY FORGOT
TO FIGURE IN THE PEOPLE WHO DIED BEFORE THEY EVER COLLECTED A SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK!!!

WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO?

This just frosts me also.  What about those who worked and paid SS tax for 15 yrs and then worked 30 yrs for the state and cannot collect anything from the money that was taken out of their check and sent in for SS tax  before going to work the 30 yrs. and earned a State Retirement.  If they collect their State earned retirement it disqualifies them for any of that money which was paid into SS for those 15 yrs. which they and their employer paid in.  What happened to that money?  I suppose it goes to all the illegals who paid nothing into the SS system.   They forget to mention they took our money and promised us we would get a monthly check when we retire and then when we retire they tell us they have no money and renamed our earned SS money and tell us our money is gone and we are now  part of the entitlement program just draining the system.  If that's not a big Ponzi scheme I would like to have a better explanation of  what a Ponzi scheme is.
Just had to let off a little steam......

Who died before they collected Social Security?

Remember, not only did you and I contribute to Social Security but your employer did, too.
It totaled 15% of your income before taxes.

If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500.
Read that again.

Did you see where the Government paid in one single penny?
We are talking about the money you and your employer put in a Government bank to insure you and
Me that we would have a retirement check from the money we put in, not the Government.

Now they are calling the money we put in an entitlement when we reach the age to take it back.
If you calculate the future invested value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% interest (less than what the Government pays on the money that it borrows).

After 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98. If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit!
If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month.

THE FOLKS IN WASHINGTON
HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME
THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

Entitlement my foot; I paid cash for my social security insurance!
Just because they borrowed the money for other government spending, doesn't make my benefits some
Kind of charity or handout!!

Remember Congressional benefits?
         free healthcare,
         outrageous retirement packages,
         67 paid holidays,
         three weeks paid vacation,
         unlimited paid sick days.

Now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my social security retirement payments entitlements?

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for
It all our working lives, and now, when it's time for us to collect, the government is running out of money.

Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?
It was supposed to be in a locked box, not part of the general fund.

Sad isn't it?
99% of people won't have the guts to forward this.
I'm in the 1%

In progressive politics, the rule for all agitators is to never let a crisis go to waste …

It appears that the socialists, communists, and anarchists – along with the unions and black empowerment groups -- are the ones using the shooting of the black 6’4” 292-pound unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown by white Officer Darren Wilson to push their own political agenda, raise money, and capture media attention.

So who are these people who are members of the Don’t Shoot Coalition?

Don’t Shoot Coalition makes preparations for Michael Brown Grand Jury outcome

Outlines support plan, how police can de-escalate and where responsibility lies

The Don’t Shoot Coalition, a coalition of approximately 50 local organizations
formed in the wake of the police shooting of Michael Brown, announced its plans in response to the anticipated Grand Jury announcement concerning possible criminal charges against Officer Darren Wilson.

The coalition has been engaged in significant efforts with numerous community groups and leaders to plan for the anticipated announcement.

If Officer Wilson is not indicted, we will do our part to try to de-escalate violence without de-escalating action” said Don’t Shoot co-chair Michael T. McPhearson, executive director of Veterans For Peace. “We are providing a number of supports to promote a peaceful response, but nothing will make a difference unless the police do their part by giving protesters adequate space. That’s the key to peaceful outcomes.”

In an effort to ensure community members are able to exercise their constitutional right to assemble in a safe and intimidation-free environment, Don’t Shoot members are attempting to negotiate three key elements to a safe police response.

First, to come to agreement on rules of engagement for all involved police agencies to foremost value the safety of those protesting, including a de-militarized response (no armored vehicles, rubber bullets, rifles or tear gas).

Second, to provide advance public notice of the date of the announcement of the Grand Jury’s decision so groups can prepare and direct people to productive actions.

Finally, police must respect established sanctuary safe spaces as off-limits.

Throughout the protests since the shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown on August 9escalation has largely resulted from an intrusive police presence. When police have given protesters space, and allowed for self-policing, the actions have remained peaceful. “For nearly three months protest leaders have maintained the peace, with the only real incidents of conflict resulting solely from police engagement,” said Montague Simmons, chair Organization for Black Struggle.

If we see violence, make no mistake, the responsibility for it lies with law enforcement,” said organizer and Don’t Shoot member Damon Davis. “Since the day they left Michael Brown’s body in the street for more than four hours, the government has failed to answer the cries of the public time and again. There has been no accountability or transparency.

It’s wrong to show that kind of the disregard for people’s feelings and people react.”

In addition to negotiating the conditions of response to any uprisings, the Don’t Shoot Coalition is involved with providing an array of supports to protesters including jail support, trained de-escalators, safe spaces for conversation and counseling in area faith institutions.

Coalition members will also show dissent in the historic tradition of, nonviolent
direct action, as advocated by civil and human rights leaders around the world,
including Mahatma Gandhi and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition groups will take action throughout the St. Louis area as an effective non-violent means to advocate for change and encourage people in the region to participate.

“There will be plenty of ways for people to join us in peaceful protest,” said Don’t Shoot co-chair and Advancement Project Senior Attorney Denise Lieberman. “This is an opportunity for everyone in the region to come together in our commitment to justice.” <Source>

These people are not about justice or they would let the justice system play out without trying to influence the outcome. From what has been released, it appears that the thug Michael Brown, coming from a previous strong-arm robbery, assaulted a police officer and lost his life in the process. Had the officer not been white and had the media been more circumspect about providing coverage to known race-baiters and agitators, there would have been no rioting, looting, and destruction of private property.

How about an alternate scenario for anyone looting or engaging in arson – they are shot on sight! As for the presence of up-armored vehicles and military-style weapons – don’t plan to riot and there would be no need to provide an enhanced police presence to contain those socialist and communist agitators that want to foment violence to attract additional media presence.

Bottom line …

It appears we are dealing with the socialists and communists who have infiltrated the progressive socialist democrat party, the unions, and the environmental and social justice groups.

I am just hoping that an innocent Darren Wilson is not forced through a trial for the purposes of political expediency. Especially since his life as he knew it is over – courtesy of race-baiters and media whores like Al Sharpton.
