A little do as I say not as I do? Pretty much par for the course for the anti-gun side of things. Erika Soto Lamb, Comms director for Everytown for Gun Safety (includes Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action), responded to a tweet from pro-gun journalist Dana Loesch on Twitter and acknowledged something […]

Shannon Watts on Moms Demand Action – “We’re Not Anti-Gun, We Support the Second Amendment”

Posted: 26 Apr 2014 05:10 PM PDT

Apparently Moms Demand Action founder and Bloomberg lackey Shannon Watts is just doing interviews at the NRA Meetings in Indianapolis. In a statement made on camera toGuns.com, Watts says that Moms Demand Action is not anti-gun and that they support the Second Amendment. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t categorize Moms Demand Action as being […]

A MAJOR BLACK EYE! NAACP PREPARES TO HONOR TWO RACISTS: ONE WHITE AND ONE BLACK AT 100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Posted: 26 Apr 2014 06:00 PM PDT

Imagine the embarrassment of the NAACP when, just weeks prior to their 100th Anniversary event, they find out that their lifetime achievement award is going to a white racist whose racist rant with his girlfriend was somehow captured on tape and made available to the public courtesy of TMZ …

And, to give race-hustler Al Sharpton the 1st Annual Person of the Year award is to honor a history of radical race-baiting.

Bottom line …

It appears that the NAACP is run the way most non-profits are run, sucking up to the politicians to provide the commendations and political access, the famous to sell tickets, and the wealthy to underwrite events and grab donations. Unfortunately, in this instance, the vetting of the candidates was somewhat incomplete. A major black eye for the organization.

Tom McClintock: California's Ron Paul

Posted: 26 Apr 2014 12:33 PM PDT

There was a time when I respected Tom McClintock as a principled conservative and supported him wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, one day I was reading a voter summary and found that McClintock voted to allow California Indian gaming institutions to self-audit their tax revenues and do their own environmental impact reports. Not exactly a position one would think prudent and agreed to by a Regan conservative. Whatever happened to trust, but verify?

tm

So, looking closer, I found that McClintock was a professional politician, used his parent’s Thousand Oaks home as a district address, apparently took per diem travel payments while he lived in Sacramento, and indeed voted in favor of the casino-Americans – who conveniently directly or mostly indirectly millions on his campaign. Here was the running mate to Arnold Schwarzenegger's gubernatorial bid and failed to get elected as the Lt. Governor. When he was termed out, he did not return to Thousand Oaks, but simply changed venues in Northern California.

I have come to believe that McClintock is California’s version of Ron Paul, a man who has mastered “talking conservative” and making sense – while being totally ineffective and effectively side-tracked by his party.

So I am curious why the California GOP would endorse him over another republican in a primary race …

Not that I have any faith in the moribund California republican party who was covertly complicit in handing Californians one of the largest tax increases in history. Using termed-out politicians and promising them future benefits if the took a temporary hit and voted with the progressive socialist democrats. The loathsome and termed-out Abel Maldonado was even promised an appointment to fill the empty Lt.Governor slot by Arnold Schwarzenegger; himself more a progressive socialist democrat than republican.

Counties press Calif. GOP to endorse Rep. McClintock

The California Republican Party is poised to endorse Rep. Tom McClintock over a fellow GOP candidate, an unusual move for the organization in primary elections.

The state party in recent years has made it considerably more difficult for candidates - including incumbents - to get its official stamp of approval over intraparty challengers. Still, party officials confirmed they've started the process to endorse McClintock and Republican Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen, a key candidate for state Senate.

McClintock, a conservative icon facing a challenge from Republican Art Moore, has secured the support of 10 county central committees across the sprawling, Roseville-based 4th district. The state endorsement would allow him to present a unified front and burnish his grass roots credentials to help energize volunteers and raise money.

Nguyen is perhaps her party's most important legislative candidate this cycle. Running against former Democratic Assemblyman Jose Solorio, she is hoping to flip the 34th district seat being vacated by Democratic Sen. Lou Correa of Santa Ana. Read more at: Capitol Alert: Counties press Calif. GOP to endorse Rep. McClintock

Bottom line …

I urge the GOP officials to withhold their endorsement in the primaries.  The idea that electing an ineffective conservative over another potentially more effective GOP legislator is fruitless. As for McClintock, I neither trust him or support him; believing he is nothing more than a professional politician who “speaks conservative” in the manner or that other small-time grifter, Ron Paul.

RE-THINKING CLIVEN BUNDY AND THE NEVADA RANCH STANDOFF

Posted: 25 Apr 2014 08:28 PM PDT

You must admit, it is an attractive picture. Grizzled old Nevada Rancher standing off the might of the federal government – complete with 200 armed soldiers with automatic weapons, dogs, snipers – surrounded by ordinary men, women, and children. Not to mention a corrupt, unsympathetic Senator known for his dodgy land deals and crony capitalism.

cb2

But, overlooking the ineptitude and incompetence of the Bureau of Land Management, headed by the corrupt Senator’s hand-picked crony, and their armed response to an issue that could have been settled in the courthouse with the filing of a government lien on Cliven Bundy’s property, what is the reality?

The facts as they have been presented in the news media …

  • Cliven Bundy, 67, owns an approximately 160-acre cattle and melon ranch in Clark County, Nevada, located near the town of Bunkerville, which itself is located on the Virgin River, nearby to the Nevada-Arizona-Utah border.
  • Cliven Bundy grazes his cattle on government-owned lands. Whether the property is lawfully the property of Clark County, the State of Nevada, or the federal government depends on who you ask.
  • Cliven Bundy refused to pay the grazing fees to the Bureau of Land Management on the theory that his property rights predate the formation of the Bureau of Land Management and have been in his family for over 100 years.
  • The Court has twice reaffirmed the position of the federal government and ordered Bundy to vacate the land or seek an accommodation with the BLM.
  • Due to political maneuvering, the government has declared a portion of this land to be a desert tortoise sanctuary – even though the desert tortoise co-exists with cattle, is not endangered, and might be used by politically-connected special interests as mitigation for commercial solar power operations elsewhere in the state.
  • The event that made Cliven Bundy a media symbol was the heavy-handed actions of the BLM, under the direction of Harry Reid’s former aid, that spent millions to attempt to resolve an issue by a show of force that was demonstrably unnecessary. The fact the the government spent more than it could recover from Bundy speaks to the ineptitude and incompetence of the Director of the Bureau of Land Management.
  • The fact the the BLM asked the FAA to create a "no fly" zone to keep out news helicopters and created a "First Amendment" pen to contain protesters is extremely troubling.

What makes Bundy's position untenable is that he claims not to recognize the federal government and wholy supports states' rights. And, who among us is willing to tell the IRS we refuse to pay taxes because our ancestors did not pay taxes prior to 1862 when an income tax was imposed to pay for the Civil War.

Asshole magnet …

It appears that Cliven Bundy’s media profile has attracted camouflage-clad, gun-bearing wannabes who want the attention of the media. Perhaps to burnish their reputation as a patriot. Along with media types that have made this a cause célèbre and the politicians, most of these people have their own interests in mind and Cliven Bundy is no more than a symbolic tool to be used to pursue their own agenda.

Asking his neighbors …

We are not hearing from his neighbors and the other ranchers who quietly pay their fees and go about their business.

Damaging the Conservative Cause and Sounding Racist ...

According to the progressive New York Times ...

But if the federal government has moved on, Mr. Bundy — a father of 14 and a registered Republican — has not.

He said he would continue holding a daily news conference; on Saturday, it drew one reporter and one photographer, so Mr. Bundy used the time to officiate at what was in effect a town meeting with supporters, discussing, in a long, loping discourse, the prevalence of abortion, the abuses of welfare and his views on race.

“So let me get this straight. If you are a white man stealing from the federal govt, you are a patriot. But if you are a black woman legally receiving benefits from the federal govt, you are better off as a slave?”

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.” <Source:  A Defiant Rancher Savors the Audience That Rallied to His Side - NYTimes.com>

I have now seen Cliven Bundy baited by the progressive socialist democrats in the progressive mainstream media to pontificate on issues of civil rights – with which he appears to have a sketchy and vague history; reaching for the name of Martin Luther King and calling Rosa Parks, Rosa Fark.

Having the progressive media confusing and conflating conservative causes with Cliven Bundy is troublesome. While Bundy might be an expert in raising cattle, he appears to be less swift when it comes to general knowledge of the greater world.

In considering Bundy's outlook on civil rights, one must remember that the 67-year-old Bundy is the patriarch of a large Mormon family with 14 children and over 50 grandchildren. And, from the mid-1800s until 1978, his Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ) excluded most blacks from participating in church affairs, especially being ordained to the church's lay priesthood. Only accepting Blacks after an elder's epiphany just prior to the Church losing its tax exempt status.

Bottom line …

This is not the Ponderosa and the Bundy family bears little resemblance to the fictional Cartwright clan. And, let us not forget, those armed officers standing up to Cliven Bundy are not the enemy, but fellow Americans performing their sworn duties. If anyone is to blame it is the leadership that gave the orders that pitted American against American.

And, about the asshole who suggested that they were going to put women in front of the men to be shot first to create bad optics for the nightly news, what the hell is this -- Bagdad or lower crapistan where the enemy hides behind women and deliberately places weapons near schools, churches, and hospitals in the hope that collateral damage gives them a "public relations" win?

There is no doubt in my mind, as a conservative, that the government is too damn big, too damn intrusive, too damn corrupt, and out-of-control. The politicians are corrupt and self-serving with their tax-and-spend policies that benefit themselves and their special interests. That being said, I no longer think that Cliven Bundy is the cowboy patriot standing up to the highbinders in the federal government. I am not sure what to make of Cliven Bundy and will watch with interest as this Kabuki theatre plays out in the Courts and the media.

Arrest and killings of armed wing of CDS credited with reduction in Sinaloa homicides

Posted: 26 Apr 2014 08:22 PM PDT

By Adán Germán for Borderland Beat
A little over two months have passed since the arrest of Sinaloa Cartel capo Joaquín 'Chapo' Guzmán Loera was captured in the port city of Mazatlán. Following his arrest and eventual incarceration in the Alto Plano federal prison, Sinaloa has seen sporadic violence associated with an 'adjustment of accounts' among criminal elements of the Sinaloa underworld. While there has been much speculation about attempts by rival members of the remnants of Juaréz Cartel, allied with former Sinaloa compadres the Beltrán Leyva Organization, to make inroads into Sinaloa Cartel territory, every sign points to realignments within the Sinaloa organization itself.

The War Commences

On March 15 things began to heat up in Mazatlán itself, when 5 men were gunned down at a seafood restaurant called Barracuda’s.Then, while police were pursuing suspects linked to the attack at Barracuda's, they came under attack, leaving two officers shot dead.  Marcos Joel Osuna Rodríguez and Pilar Valentín Osuna were detained, suspected in the attack that left 5 men dead.

The men are thought to be members of one of the Sinaloa Cartel's 'armed wings', such as Los  Ántrax. Under questioning by federal authorities, they implicated the entire Mazatlán police force as having been under the control of 'El Chapo'. Following these events, the police chief of Mazatlán, Pablo Andrés Hernández Lizárraga, was suspended and disappeared before he could be arrested.

The rest of the Mazatlán continues to operate under a cloud of suspicion, although the state police commander for Sinaloa, Jesús Antonio Aguilar Íñiguez aka Chuytoño, declined to make any arrests.  Chuytoño himself was under an arrest order prior to his appointment by Sinaloa governor Mario Lopéz Valdez, Malova, accused of complicity in the death of Rodolfo Carrillo and as a protector of the Sinaloa Cartel's top leaders.

 The death of 'El Jaguar'

At the end of March of this year, a convoy of Army and state police came under fire outside Navolato, leaving 4 dead sicarios. Apparently, they put up a valiant fight, firing off hundreds of rounds from high powered automatic rifles and tossing fragmentation grenades at the soldiers. However this was not enough to save Germán Ceniceros Ibarra, 'El Jaguar', from a violent death, along with three of his gunmen.

Who was this 'Jaguar'? Germán Ceniceros Ibarra was a former chief of the municipal police in Navolato, the stronghold of the Carrillos and the home of matriarch doña Aurora Fuentes López. Doña Aurora always believed that Germán Ceniceros Ibarra was responsible for the 2008 kidnapping and murder of her son, José Cruz Carrillo Fuentes, younger brother of Vicente Carrillo Fuentes, El General. He was found murdered, along with his brother-in-law, José Antonio García Lara. Her daughter-in-law personally identified Andres and Germán Ceniceros Ibarra as being among the military command arrived with 15 armored Humvees and kidnapped the men. This precipitated a violent war between the Carrillos and the Sinaloa Cartel, unprecedented since the murder of Rodolfo Carrillo Fuentes four years prior.

In the following months, no less than 15 officers who had been with the Navolato municipal police would turn up dead. Germán Ceniceros Ibarra ,'El Jaguar', disappeared from his position, while 49 of the 84 officers with the municipal police resigned their positions. Two police commander who were cousins of 'El Jaguar', Jorge and Héctor Javier Lizárraga Ceniceros were found murdered the following year.

At the time of his death, Germán Ceniceros Ibarra was riding in a black Hummer H2 on the road from Culiacán to Navolato. It is unknown if the armed confrontation with military forces was a chance even or not. It has been alleged that Ceniceros Ibarra was chief of sicarios for Dámaso López Núñez, 'El Licenciado',  in the areas of Navolato and Eldorado.

The Murder of 'El Bravo'

At the beginning of this month, reports surfaced that Manuel Alejandro Aponte Gómez 'El Bravo', reputed to be head of security for Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, had been found dead, along with 3 other men. The bodies showed evidence of torture, were bound with duct tape, and dumped on a farm. There were allegations that Dámaso López Núñez, 'El Licenciado', was cleaning house and getting rid of potential rivals. It had been stated in alleged comments made by Carlos Manuel Hoo Ramírez, 'El Cóndor', arrested with Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, that there was a possibility of a war between 'El Bravo' and 'El Licenciado'. What is more likely is that 'El Bravo' was done in by his own people for failing to protect the boss, and was tortured to make sure he was the source of information that led to 'El Chapo'.

On April 3rd of this year, a shootout occurred outside Culiacan, at the campo 'El Diez' and the Sinaloa state police detained 10 men. The Sinaloa Attorney General, Martín Robles Armenta, decided to turn the men over to federal authorities with the PGR [federal prosecutor's office] where the case if being handled by SEIDO, the organized crime division of Mexico's Attorney General.

It has now been reported that the detained men, who have not been identified, are members of 'Los Chimalis', an armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel based in Villa Juarez, a town located outside of Culiacán, in between Navolato and Costa Rica, in Navolato municipality. Martín Robles Armenta has not stated this is the case, but he has said that the arrest of a major part of this gang, along with the seizure of an arsenal of weapons, has reduced crime in this part of Sinaloa.

It's hard to say how many of these arrests and killings by police are part of the 'settling of accounts' following the capture of Sinaloa Cartel capo Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, because historically, the Sinaloa state police have almost always been in the pocket of organized crime. One thing is certain, and that is the fact that there has been a major changing of the guards in the area along the Sinaloa coast, south and west of Culiacán. This area, stretching from Altata to Eldorado is an important smuggling area for boats coming in and out of Sinaloa, with myriad bays, inlets, and beaches to conduct operations, without of surveillance from local residents, who are firmly under the thumb of the Sinaloa Cartel.

This is the area where the family of Dámaso López Núñez, 'El Licenciado', has long enjoyed a local fiefdom, long before 'El Licenciado' secured a place in the Sinaloa Cartel hierarchy with his aid in the escape of Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán from Puente Grande prison in Jalisco. His father, Dámaso López García, was a municipal manager from Eldorado, a position guaranteeing political patronage, before he passed away in 2009. His brother, Adolfo López Núñez, who is also identified by military intelligence as an organized crime figure associated with the Sinaloa Cartel.

Omar “Z42” Treviño Morales is Not Dead

Posted: 26 Apr 2014 10:46 PM PDT

Chivís Martínez for Borderland Beat

Yesterday Blog del Narco posted that Z42, leader of Los Zetas cartel was killed in Guatemala, while riding in a rag top Lamborghini.

Our fantastic readers are the seed of many posts, sending in breaking events, information and image support.  When the story of “42” was published we began getting the comments pouring in that he was killed.   Although I have commented on various posts that he was not killed, the comments continue to arrive in our comment box.

So let’s clear it up once and for all.

Blog del Narco summed it up like this:
“Also, unofficially it was known that two gunmen were wounded, although no official report on what happened. after which circulated the rumor that one of Los Zetas is executed Omar Treviño, brother of Miguel Angel Treviño Morales, "El Z-40", who was head of the criminal group.

Subsequently, intelligence agents escorted the Guatemala experts for the State Attorney to lifting and transporting the executed Omar Treviño and carrying weapons.

Meanwhile, Army personnel and Guatemala Metropolitan Police closed all access to where they executed Omar Treviño sheltered the site, while helicopters flew for several hours this metropolitan area.”

The story was posted on BB forum, where I made a comment saying:

“I checked the four top noticias in guate and there is nothing.

Zetas typically do not dress or live flashy (reference to the vehicle) as other cartels like Sinaloa  and Omar stays close to Nava in northern Coahuila.”

Then a resourceful BB reader (Magic) found this video, photo and story, which was published on April 23, 2014, Wednesday of this week........in Perú.
Text from “Perú21” newpaper:
A shootout this afternoon , around 3:30 pm, at the intersection of Aviation Avenue and Clara Barton Street in Surquillo, one was killed identified as  businessman. The deceased was identified as Hugo Quintana Bardelli, 45.

Quintana Bardelli, who used to frequent this area according to witnesses, was traveling in his black Lamborghini sports car without plates when he was intercepted by three hooded  men who fired 19 shots at the vehicle , 14 bullets through the windshield.

Still alive, but with several bullets in his body, got out and collapsed soon after . The wife and father of Quintana Bardelli arrived at the scene.

Police sources consulted by Perú21 said that before fleeing in a brown car to an unknown destination, the murderers had taken a black briefcase from  the car of the deceased.

In September 2013, Quintana Bardelli was registered in the National Superintendency of Public Registries (Sunarp) as an entrepreneur dedicated to buying and selling, marketing and distributing a variety of products from clothing, lingerie, jewelry, toys, heavy equipment , car parts, musical instruments, among others.

INVESTIGATED IN ITALY
The Italian portal politicamentecorretto.com Bardelli reported that Quintana was included in an investigation for a mafia involved operation  in trafficking visas for that country.

This website states that his wife Laura Cambriani, an official at the Italian Embassy in Perú, was responsible for facilitating the paperwork for Quintana Bardelli who contacted potential clients and visas offered in exchange for large sums of money ranging between U.S. $ 2,000 and U.S. $ 7,000

Use this as a cautionary tale
A number of narco blogs have become alarmingly unreliable.

News has become increasingly difficult to verify and attain, which may have resulted in some disturbing practices, such as flat out fabricating stories.

Bottom line: Z42 was not killed in Guatemala, was not killed in a Lamborghini, and is mostly likely riding an expensive horse on a ranch in northeast Coahuila.

So put  the celebratory Tequila away.

Templarios Financial Officer Dead, Reports of Soldiers Seizing Body from Funeral

Posted: 26 Apr 2014 12:40 PM PDT

Chivís Martínez for Borderland Beat

Reports of body snatching of a dead narco has a twist,  the body was taken by Mexican soldiers.

Samer Joseph Servin Juarez “El Rigoberto “ died of a heart attack.
He was designated as one of the 15 Caballeros Templarios leaders most wanted by the Mexican agency PGR.  Within the rewards offered, ranging up to 30 million pesos, was the 10 million peso reward for Servin Juarez.

Servin Juarez was not among the Templarios “heads” indicated by autodefensa leaders as their most wanted.

The dead Templario was a financial operator for slain leader Kike Plancarte, while working in the key Michoacán cities of Morelia, Querétaro and Reynosa Tamaulipas.  He was a close friend of  and as his financial officer, he  worked closely with the now deceased Enrique “Kike” Plancarte.

The story being reported is a group of Mexican army soldiers, burst into a Morelia Michoacán  funeral home and took the body.  In the presence of family and friends, the body was placed on a stretcher by soldiers, placed in a van, and driven away.

He was to be cremated on Wednesday at 6PM, and as the story goes the body was taken an hour prior to the cremation.  The body was taken to Michoacán state PGJE facilities where DNA testing is conducted.  The DNA testing of Nazario Moreno, El Chayo, and Francisco Galeana, El Pantera, among others was conducted at this facility.

In speculation, it is possible that upon learning of the pending cremation of the deceased, authorities wanted to extract DNA.   There is such a deep mistrust by the people of Michoacán, pertaining to information issued from  the government, by both states and federal governments.

Subsequent to the 2014 killing of “El Chayo” - the premier leader of Templarios aka “died twice”-, was officially  announced for the second time,  public announcements are now rejected sans solid proof.

Although EPN supporters were quick to point out the 2010 official announcement of El Chayo’s death in Apatzingán  was reported in the previous Calderon , not by the Peña administration.

The problem with that attempt to distance them from the 2010 “killing” is the proverbial elephant in the room,  EPN’s administration never dispelled the death as being false, and did not have Chayo on the most wanted list.  That leaves either one of two possibilities… or both, the federal administration, as previous administrations, simply have never cared about the heavily indigenous populated Michoacán or the gross lack of security within its borders, or  EPN’s administration they believed Chayo to be dead and did not think it important to investigate the claims of citizens.

Either case is a shameful travesty.

Almost immediately after Chayo’s (above) 2010 “death”, citizens reported seeing the Templarios leader, saying he was in fact alive.  Autodefensas had been very vocal and adamant that Chayo was unquestionably alive.  It is indisputable now, that the people and autodefensas were correct.

Dr. Mireles is doubtful that Plancarte is dead.  Or I should say he is not satisfied with the proof offered by the government.

When I heard of Plancarte’s death, I immediately contacted Dr. Mireles and asked if it was true.  He replied, “Apparently so, however DNA testing is needed”.    That is yet to be conducted or perhaps completed.  A bout a week ago there were many reports saying that Dr. Mireles insists Plancarte is alive. That is not 100% the story, the full story is that he wants proof and in this day of indisputable evidentiary conclusion based on DNA, there really is no reason to challenge the need in these cases.

Dr. Mireles has a trained scientific mind, he is a surgeon, and he requires more, in that context, and when it is possible to attain indisputable proof, one is hard pressed to argue against that position.

Until and if that should ever occur, Dr. Mireles is “not buying it”.

I do believe Plancarte is dead, but I also thought Chayo was killed in 2010, based on the photos, and  must say if Kike Plancarte should become “twice dead ll”, I wouldn’t be in complete shock.
