Gun Control

From a column by the gun editor at Field & Stream:

Q: "I just read that home defense is now the No. 1 reason that people buy guns. Why do you think that is?"

A: "I believe that more and more people these days are paying attention to what shooting instructor Clint Smith says: "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away." I also think the rise in gun sales is an inverse indicator of our faith in government to do anything very effectively, including protect us from harm. Or, look at it this way: If Joe Biden says that no one wants to take away your Beretta, would you be especially comforted?"
##

NOTE: F&S must remain circumspect and politically correct to some degree, but I think if they were more candid, they would add that historical documents prove that the purpose of the Second Amendment was less about protection from marauders, and more about protection from our own corrupt government. While Biden may be just inept, other, more dangerous officials in the current administration (Eric Holder, for example) have been quoted during their careers as favoring the end of gun ownership by private citizens.

Freedom-loving Americans are waiting and watching....keeping our powder dry.
