It is amazing what an American citizen can do when they are threatened by a tyrannical government agency and refuse to knuckle under to the government’s unthinking, uncaring bureaucrats – and that there efforts are accurately reported by the mainstream news media.
Snipers, Dogs, Tasers …all arrayed against an American citizen …
The Bureau of Land Management has issued the following statement …
Impound Operation Concluded
Statement from Director of the Bureau of Land Management Neil Kornze on the Cattle Gather in Nevada:
As we have said from the beginning of the gather to remove illegal cattle from federal land consistent with court orders, a safe and peaceful operation is our number one priority. After one week, we have made progress in enforcing two recent court orders to remove the trespass cattle from public lands that belong to all Americans.
Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public.
We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner.
Ranching has always been an important part of our nation’s heritage and continues throughout the West on public lands that belong to all Americans.
This is a matter of fairness and equity, and we remain disappointed that Cliven Bundy continues to not comply with the same laws that 16,000 public lands ranchers do every year.
After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, Mr. Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially.
Coincidently, this release comes hours after the release of media stories detailing Nevada Senator Harry Reid’s involvement with BLM operations and his family’s connections to a Chinese Solar Energy company who may want this very land for a solar plant.
Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”
It is also embarrassing to learn that the stated purpose of the land grab, to protect the desert tortoise was a bogus issue as the federal government was killing desert tortoises because they had overpopulated a designated desert tortoise sanctuary.
“A tortoise isn’t the reason why BLM is harassing a 67 year-old rancher; they want his land,” journalist Dana Loesch wrote. “The tortoise wasn’t of concern when [U.S. Senator] Harry Reid worked with BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise’s habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore.”
It is still not right …
According to sources, the BLM wants to proceed with the sale of the cattle already gathered during the roundup but is reportedly willing to share the revenue from the sale with Bundy. <Source>
Bottom line …
This is not a matter of a land dispute, but an abuse of government power to confiscate public lands for the purpose of commercialization that benefits politicians and their special interests.
It appears that Senator Harry Reid has improperly used his position for personal gain and should be investigated and prosecuted. It also appears that Harry Reid, a progressive socialist democrat is willing to aid and abet a foreign sovereign power to develop critical energy infrastructure and potentially gain a control point on the energy grid – including all of the classified measures to protect our electric grids from foreign cyberattacks.
You cannot trust the progressive socialist democrats when it comes to national security or the security and safety of all Americans. Not to mention protecting the American public from the tyrannical abuse of government’s constitutional authority and usurpation of states’ rights.
