Hostile Takeover at the State Level

CBS News
Tea party activists in Georgia helped kill a proposed sales tax increase that would have raised billions of dollars for transportation projects. In Pennsylvania, tea partyers pushed to have taxpayers send public school children to private schools. In Ohio, they drove a referendum to block state health insurance mandates.
These and other battles are evidence of the latest phase of the conservative movement, influencing state and local policy, perhaps more effectively than on a national level. Tea party organizers are refocusing, sometimes without the party label, to build broader support for their initiatives. The strategy has produced victories that activists say prove their staying power. Read More

(EOZ)The Al Ahram youth newspaper has an article on how Ramadan is now celebrated in the old Jewish quarter of Cairo and how Jews used to live there in harmony with Arabs. It is a nice article, with interviews of old Arabs who recall fondly their Jewish friends and even their being asked to do things forbidden to Jews on Shabbat.
The old Jewish quarter is now a shopping district, but without any Jews:

While the article is certainly not anti-Jewish. it tries to distinguish between "Egyptian Jews" and the "Zionists who now live in Israel," who are presumably not the nice Jews that they recall.
However, the article contains a glaring mistake in its description of how the tens of thousands of Egyptian Jews disappeared. It merely says "since 1948, Jews began to migrate from Egypt, sold everything and migrated either to Israel or to different countries."
Of course, the Jews were stripped of their possessions, subject to violent and often deadly attacks, and eventually expelled from Egypt.(MORE)
I feel bad that these people have to live with each other in Egypt

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has no problem calling for the destruction of Israel and blaming it for attacks linked to his own party, but when his relative needs life-saving heart surgery, only Israeli doctors will do.
Media_httpa57foxnewsc_ncfjhThe stunning hypocrisy comes to light after five Hamas-backed terrorists allegedly killed 16 Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai Peninsula that borders Gaza. Although evidence points to a Hamas-backed terror operation, Haniyeh inexplicably blamed it on Israel. The suspects were later killed by Israeli Defense Forces when they tried to cross the Kerem Shalom border.
“A person from the inner circle of the Hamas leadership did receive treatment at Beilinson Hospital."
- Israeli government source
"Israel is responsible, one way or another, for this attack to embarrass Egypt's leadership and create new problems at the border, in order to ruin efforts to end the [Israeli] siege of the Gaza Strip,” Haniyeh claimed during in an interviews with the Hamas-run Al-Aqsa television.
Yet only a few months ago, the revelation that Ismail Haniyeh’s brother-in-law received a special permit from the Israeli government to travel into the Jewish State to receive life-saving heart surgery has come as something of a surprise.
Haniyeh’s sister Suhila’s husband suffered undisclosed heart problems four months ago that doctors in Gaza were unable to treat, according toYnetnews.com. The stricken man and his wife were whisked to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva in central Israel, where he was treated, and some days later, the couple returned to Gaza.
“A person from the inner circle of the Hamas leadership did receive treatment at Beilinson Hospital," an Israeli government source confirmed to FoxNews.com. "Although there are no diplomatic relations between Israel and Hamas, there are many occasions when requests for help based on purely medical decisions taken in Gaza are granted by Israel for humanitarian reasons.”
No one from Hamas was available for comment on the case.
Guy Inbar, spokesman for Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories toldFoxNews.com that Israel routinely renders such humanitarian aid to Palestinians - when it is requested. “Approximately 115,000 Palestinian patients from the West Bank were treated in Israeli hospitals during 2011. Additionally, some 9500 permits were issued for Palestinians from Gaza to receive treatment”, he said.
The Palestinian Authority, which has received an average of $600 million in annual aid from the U.S., foots the bill for all medical treatment of Palestinians in Israeli hospitals.
But Haniyeh's rhetoric against Israel may be coming at the expense of ailing Palestinians without ties to the leadership. In recent weeks there has been a notable decrease in the number of permits being requested by Gazans for medical treatment in Israel, prompting some regional observers to wonder if Haniyeh - who has repeatedly vowed not to rest until “Israel is wiped off the face of the map”- is now denying his own people the opportunity to benefit from Israeli medical help.
Ronen Bergman, an expert on Israeli intelligence affairs, told Fox News that he feels the permission granted to Haniyeh’s brother-in-law for treatment in Israel could however be part of a bigger picture.
"Hamas is well aware that Israel will give high quality treatment to Palestinians without taking into consideration their organizational membership," he said. "Furthermore, this case could be interpreted as a signal to Hamas ... that the channels of negotiation that brought about the release last year of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit ... might potentially be used to develop better relations between the two sides.”

"I was arrested at the rally for, "offending Islam" by walking in a PUBLIC park with my dog. Apparently, Muslims do not like dogs. I was warned by a few demonstrators not to go near them. Of course I ignored them and reminded them this is Canada, not Pakistan. Well I was assaulted and returned the favor in kind.

At that point I was jumped by four COPS, dragged off and hand cuffed. Oh my the police were so angry! They said I was, "insensitive" and "inciting a riot". 30 minutes later they cut me a big deal. No charges if I left. So I left. Imagine this happening in Canada? Walking a licensed dog on a leash at the park in front of our Provincial Legislature and being arrested for that simple act!"

NB: This is a therapy dog. Works at hospitals.

now I know how to deal with such marches in the future. I'm always with a dog!

Jimmy Carter visits Arab neighborhood
(Jimmy Carter visits Arab neighborhood
Israel news photo: Flash 90)
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has called upon the Democratic National Committee to rescind its invitation to former President Jimmy Carter to address the upcoming 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The ZOA pointed to Carter’s “decades-long hostility towards, and defaming of, Israel” as well as his “advocacy of negotiations with Hamas” as evidence of the “inappropriateness of the invitation.”
The Republican Jewish Coalition and the National Jewish Democratic Council have both opposed Carter’s scheduled appearance. Yet, the Democratic National Convention continues to champion Carter "one of the greatest humanitarian leaders of our time and a champion of democracy around the globe."
“The invitation to President Carter to address the Democratic National Convention is an insult to American Jews, Christian Zionists and all Americans who care -- as polls show them to do in large numbers -- for Israel,” said ZOA National Chairman of the Board Dr. Michael Goldblatt.
President Carter’s 2007 book titled Peace Not Apartheid, contains “numerous falsehoods about Israel, not least the vicious insinuation in its title that Israel resembles the evils of the apartheid regime in South Africa.”
In the book, “Carter falsely claimed that, not Arab non-acceptance of Israel as a Jewish state, but Jews living in Judea and Samaria, is the ‘primary’ obstacle to peace. He has thus endorsed the Palestinian agenda of setting up a Jew-free state.”
The ZOA continued to cite the many falsehoods and libels against Israel that Carter has spread over the years, including his claim that, “Israel destroyed 40,000 homes; destroyed hospitals; rendered several hundred thousand Palestinians homeless; that Gaza was surrounded by an impenetrable wall; and that the Goldstone Report had investigated the deaths of 1,387 Palestinians in that conflict.”
“In fact, not a single one of these claims was correct; they were all lies against the Jewish state of Israel,” Goldblatt asserted.
“Far from being a champion of human rights, Jimmy Carter has harmed the cause of human rights, especially in regard to the continuing Arab war on Israel. The Democratic National Convention Committee and Obama for America should do the right thing and rescind their invitation to Jimmy Carter.”

(CIFWatch)According to an August 18th post by Abunimah, the Guardian has now downgraded Trevino from member of their editorial team to member of its commentary team.
“If you look at the Guardian’s 15 August press release as it appears now it begins:
Today the Guardian announced the addition of Josh Treviño to its commentary team in the United States. Formerly of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, Treviño will be the newest commentator for the Guardian’s growing US politics team through his column On Politics amp; Persuasion which launches on Monday 20 August.
But that is not what it said on 15 August, when I quoted it. Here is how it began then (emphasis added):
Today the Guardian announced the addition of Josh Treviño to their editorial team.Formerly of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, Treviño will be the newestCorrespondent for the Guardian’s growing US politics team through his column “On Politics and Persuasion” which launches on Monday, August 20.
Note the disappearance of the terms “editorial team” and “correspondent.” The Guardian also changed the headline from “The Guardian adds Josh Treviño to growing editorial team” to “The Guardian adds Josh Treviño to growing US team.” “
If correct, Abunimah’s claim has interesting implications. Trevino was appointed, according to Matt Seaton, to write about US domestic politics – not the Middle East. His opinions on Israel should, therefore, have nothing to do with his ability to do the job to which he was hired. (MORE)
At least we know the UKGuardian is aware of the fact that they have been marginalized from the mainstream a bit. That in itself is satisfying.

(wnd.com)Center for Security Policy Senior Fellow Clare Lopez cited chapter and verse from the Quran to explain that crucifixions are not simply normal for Islam, they’re demanded.
“Crucifixion is a hadd punishment, stipulated in the Quran, Sura 5:33, and therefore an obligatory part of Shariah,” Lopez said. (MORE)
Not sure of the source of the information here, but it sounds like something the Muslim Brotherhood are capable of.

(Israel Matzav: Pot calls kettle black)In recent months, the Obama administration has leaked details of an alleged Israeli purchase of airfields in Azerbaijan, and of the role that the US and Israel have played in the development of the Stuxnet and Flame computer worms. Now, the Obama administration is complaining about 'Israeli leaks.' But of what? They're not saying.
U.S. officials say Israeli leaders are sincere about the need to act quickly on Iran, but they do not think Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made the decision to strike. Rather, the Israeli leader is trying to pressure the United States. “They are deadly serious, as is the president, about the need to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon,” a senior U.S. official told the Washington Post. “But there has been far too much talking — background leaks and fabrications — that hurt the cause.”
But who outside of the Obama administration has done that talking?

Educators Who Want Indoctrination in Evolution

Over the years, I’ve found that evolutionists are less and less willing to even discuss the possibility that their conclusions about origins might be wrong. I received a letter from a supporter recently who was very concerned about an article she read in the quarterly journal, American Educator. Now, this journal is intended for classroom [...]

Here comes New York Mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg with his “don’t do as I do, do as I say” liberal nanny state … telling mothers that their children would be healthier if they would only breast feed. To this end, Bloomberg as his fellow travelers have mandated that infant formula be locked up like medication and that each time it is dispensed a nurse must document the reason. Also counseling mothers who are requesting infant formula on the benefits of breast feeding.
Talk about the democrats screwing with woman’s rights!
But the one medical fact that Mayor Bloomberg does not want you to know is simply:
YOUR CHILD WILL BE HEALTHIER AND SAFER IF THEY LIVE OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK CITY!

If you need one reason to throw the democrats out of the House and the Senate, it is this: they don’t even follow their own rules.
Let Senator Rand Paul explain …
When will this corruption of the political system end?

Public employee unions have decimated our local and state finances …
There is little or no doubt in my mind that corrupt public employee unions and their pension funds are behind the greatest catastrophe to befall America outside of war and recession. Everywhere you turn, the economic catastrophe that has befallen our nation is impacting everything. Except, the public employee unions whose members seem well-insulated from the effects of the financial disaster. With few exceptions, non-union employees and members of middle management are laid off before politicians will tamper with their source of campaign funding and voter support. The very idea that the public needs to be protected from the public is ludicrous. Ample legal remedies exist for employees to mount grievances against their employers if necessary. And there is no reason that the taxpayer should be forced from the bargaining table and disadvantaged by fake bargaining between the unions and those whom they have put in power.
View the CalWatchDog story …
CalWatchdog's Brian Calle investigates the income of the 10 parking enforcement employees for the 1.3-square-mile city of Hermosa Beach, CA. In the Golden State, the average income is just $51,910, but the two highest-earning meter maids in Hermosa Beach made more than $92,000 and $93,000, respectively in 2011-2012.
Don’t be fooled – it’s not a political free speech issue, it’s political corruption …
When the public employee unions threaten public officials with the loss of campaign funds, voter support or supporting a more compliant candidate; that’s political corruption. Especially if the union demands are met without due consideration for the economy and the financial affairs of the local and state government.
Bottom line …
When Barack Obama and his fellow democrat  travelers in Congress put forth the stimulus, they were buying votes and insuring that they would be well-funded in the next election cycle. The majority of the money was used to maintain the positions, salaries and benefits of public employee union members. And where infrastructure projects were concerned, it was to benefit union labor.
Unless we break this never-ending chain of political corruption, there will be no way for our local and state government’s to recover other than to massively raise the taxes of everyone to pay for what has become a protected political class of worker – the ideal path of socialism where the government and their cronies benefit over ordinary citizens.
It is time for a review of pensions, especially those with sweeteners or sweetheart deals.  If those who put forth these outrageous plans do not go along with the review will lose their “get out of jail free” card and be investigated and prosecuted for political corruption. We need to re-work our overly-generous compensation plans. Especially in the first responder sector where not every sworn officer or fire offical faces daily danger. Cubicle workers  and functionaries need not be compensated at rates beyond those paid to the private sectors.
There should be no more defined benefit programs funded by taxpayers, only defined contributions based on the fiscal health of the payor. It is time to curb the cadre of public employee union members – to the extent of outlawing the union’s participation in anything other than safety issues.
If you think I am anti-union, rest assured I am guilty as charged. They are socialist organizations which stink of the promotion of mediocrity over excellence, stagnation over innovation and corruption for those on the inside.

In the last post here we left off with “Jihadifanclub” stating that him and his Sharia loving brothers were going to overthrow the US Government.Since then I asked him how he was going to do it, and once again Jihadi showed where his loyalty lies.
First we will invite you to Islam or you let Islam rule without any oppression. Then the last alternative is to fight your army. Like I said before bringing family values to a society is not oppression.

As you will see the want to be jihadist went old school with his response:
Chapter 1: REGARDING PERMISSION TO MAKE A RAID, WITHOUT AN ULTIMATUM, UPON THE DISBELIEVERS WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN INVITED TO ACCEPT ISLAM
Muslim Hadith Book 019, Number 4292:
Ibn ‘Aun reported: I wrote to Nafi’ inquiring from him whether it was necessary to extend (to the disbelievers) an invitation to accept (Islam) before m”. ing them in fight. He wrote (in reply) to me that it was necessary in the early days of Islam. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) made a raid upon Banu Mustaliq while they were unaware and their cattle were having a drink at the water. He killed those who fought and imprisoned others. On that very day, he captured Juwairiya bint al-Harith. Nafi’ said that this tradition was related to him by Abdullah b. Umar who (himself) was among the raiding troops.
I’m sorry, I probably shouldn’t complain that some Muslim wants to me to convert, force Islamic rule on me, or kill me. To do so would be “Islamophobia”.
I also probably should not say a word about this other comment I received today. Because anything is better than getting called an “Islamophobe”….
u must be a jew having ur way playing around with words, but u forgot that u r speaking to a muslim, not to a dumb christian, the FACT of the matter NOW A DAY that EVRY ONE AND ANYONE is waging wars agianst muslims, not the other way around, from the jews, the chrsitians, the buthist, the athiests etc whome u may think have nothing in common with each other and that in it self shows that islam stand alone as the truth, and we will rule u ALL make u pay jizyah subdud.

An atheist was walking through the woods.

'What majestic trees!'

'What powerful rivers!'

'What beautiful animals!'

He said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.

He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge toward him.

He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.

He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer.

He tripped & fell on the ground.

He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.

At that instant moment, the Atheist cried out:
'Oh my God!'

Time stopped.

The bear froze.

The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky.

'You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident.'

'Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?'

'Am I to count you as a believer?'

The atheist looked directly into the light, and said: 'It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian?'

'Very well', said the voice.

The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:
'Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from Thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen.'
