Obama is finishing his work

Barack Obama has said he wants a second term to finish his work.

What work would that be? Would that be the destruction of America as an economic and military power?
Some people have asked the question, if Barack Obama's specific intention were to do as much damage to America as he could, would he have done anything differently?
The answer, sadly, is no.
Now we are seeing the fruits of one of the most destructive policies of the Obama regime.
Canadians are awash in oil. They have more oil than they know what to do with. They wanted to send it to the United States for processing and then consumption. Thanks to Obama, that effort was blocked.
If you study economics at all, you know that individuals as well as nations act in their own enlightened self-interest. Canada has a valuable resource. They were not simply going to sit on it. If America was not going to buy its oil, Canada would find another customer. And it has.
It is China.
The Chinese are now buying oil companies and energy reserves in Canada.
Unfortunately for America, Obama has decided to make war on energy. This is what he promised in 2008. Unfortunately, no one believed him back then.
This year, coal-fired power plants representing 8.5% of the total coal fired power plant capacity, are being taken out of service. These plants are being retired because of new, massive and expensive government regulations.
More plant closings are planned for the future.
What does this mean?
For now we have enough natural gas coming in to keep our power plants generating but ultimately this means higher prices for consumers, and at some point, energy shortages.
Obama's goal is to eliminate coal-fired power plants. He has said as much. If he gets a second term, with no worry about trying to be reelected again, his war on energy is going to expand.
The only energy projects that interest Obama have two things in common. First, they are epic, abject failures. And second, they involve major fundraisers for the Democrat Party.
The free market delivers energy and an efficient and relatively cheap manner. Unfortunately for America, Obama's war on energy is a larger war. It is also a war on the free market.
If he wins re-election, we will have neither peace nor prosperity nor the ability to heat our homes in the winter and cool them in the summer.
This is the work Obama wants to finish.
