This makes me mad … Democratic Party Platform: Reinstate assault weapons ban Democrats are calling for a reinstatement of the assault weapons ban in the 2012 Party Platform, citing their belief that the right to own firearms “is subject to reasonable regulation.”“We understand the terrible consequences of gun violence; it serves as a reminder that life is fragile, and our time here is limited and precious,” the text of the platform reads. The text of the platform also calls for strengthening background checks and closing what the Democrats describe as the “gun show loophole.” The purpose of these restrictions? “[S]o that guns do not fall into the hands of those irresponsible, law-breaking few,” the text declares. The White House signaled in August that President Obama supports renewing the assault weapons ban – signed by Clinton in 1994 – which expired in 2004. Although activists have called for a renewal of the ban, in the wake recent mass shootings, Congress has signaled very little interest in doing so, particularly in an election year. Equating such arms as fully-automatic weapons used by soldiers in combat. Second, the democrats refuse to acknowledge that Americans have a fundamental right to protect themselves and their families AND that the police are only responsible for maintaining the general order and protecting the government. Third, the democrats would like nothing more to make all Americans vulnerable to lawlessness so that they must support government or die. Federal Reserve: Game Playing before the 2012 election? Posted: 13 Sep 2012 05:48 PM PDT What the hell is the Federal Reserve thinking? Over the past few years the Federal Reserve has been complicit in a stealth conspiracy to re-capitalize the major banks in order to prevent them from being judged insolvent. There is little or doubt in my mind that the Fed doubled down on the Greenspan policy of holding interest rates artificially low to insure that banks were generating the type of significant profits that would allow them to shore up their technically insolvent balance sheets. Disadvantaging the consumer who was offered investment and deposit interest rates that were lower than the inflation that was sapping their purchasing power. It didn’t work to resolve the dot.com bubble bust, it only created the mortgage bubble as the international pool of capital sought safe investments paying more than Greenspan’s 1% interest rate. Now they are using ZIRP (Zero Interest Rate Program) to offer money to financial institutions at zero-percent to one-quarter of one-percent (essentially free money) to help them earn outrageous profits to recapitalize their failing balance sheets. By the way, you notice that nobody is yelling about restricting executive bonuses on “sure thing” profits. But then again, these are the people donating to political campaigns to purchase influence with this administration and potentially the next administration. Now we find Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke blindly attempting to lower mortgage interest rates while ignoring the real problem. The real problem facing American finances is that the government’s continued interference in the mortgage marketplace is attempting to woo voters rather than bring stability to the marketplace. Until the mortgage market hits bottom and true asset prices can be determined, the mortgage market will never recover from its malaise – and mortgage-backed securities correctly priced. If the Federal Reserve and the Obama Administration’s Department of the Treasury wanted to solve borrower’s problems, it could do so with reductions in principal loan amounts – no cosmetic fixes as lowering rates or extending maturity dates. Of course, the financial community needs mortgage re-financing more than the borrowers facing default. Only through the re-finance process can the financial institutions legally obtain assignments which, once again, give them the permission for foreclose on defaulted loan. Many foreclosures, up until this time, could not be foreclosed because nobody could prove who owned the “paper” – was it the derivative pool operators, MERS (Mortgage Electronic Registration System) who purportedly had the right to foreclose, or some other entity? Without a clear indication of property ownership, courts were reluctant to allow foreclosures. Of course, the financial institutions had their own work-around, robo-signing, where fraudulent documents were created out of thin air and presented to courts across the nation. So we wonder what the hell is the Fed thinking … Fed Pulls Trigger, to Buy Mortgages in Effort to Lower Rates The Federal Reserve fulfilled expectations of more stimulus for the faltering economy, taking aim now atdriving down mortgage rates until an improvement in unemployment that the central bank says will be a problem for several years. The Fed said it will buy $40 billion of mortgage-backed securities per month in an attempt to foster a nascent recovery in the real estate market.  The purchases will be open-ended, meaning that they will continue until the Fed is satisfied that economic conditions, primarily in unemployment, improve. Bottom line … Buying mortgages does nothing except prop up the financial institutions holding dodgy paper and incentivize ignoring sound banking practices and relaxing mortgage underwriting standards,. Thus, kicking the can down the road once more. Unless the real estate market can find its true bottom – free of government intervention – we are simply prolonging the recession. We need to throw Obama and Bernanke under the bus, lest they bankrupt America with their foolishness. The financial people, Ben Bernanke and Tim Geithner included, know how to fix the problem. Unfortunately, they do not know how to isolated the solution from the severe political fallout that will result when some financial institutions deservedly collapse –with their investors, not the taxpayer, paying the price for their imprudent, and possibly criminal, actions. How else can you explain how $1.2 Billion of protected customer money goes missing and democrat Jon Corzine is not charged with a criminal act? How else can you explain record fines – paid by the depositors and shareholders – while no executives have gone to jail? How else can you understand that the tentacles of Goldman Sachs current and former employees seem to be everywhere in the government financial calculations? Sensitive documents put others at risk … The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya.Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the "safe house" in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed "safe". Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts. Why attack protocols demanding the destruction of secure documents and safes with explosive charges was not implemented should be a matter for investigation. Bottom line … When it comes to security, the State Department has shown a stunning incompetence over the years. Denying Marine sentries and protective personnel live ammunition for their weapons and in some cases refusing to implement anti-explosive devices which would cause certain bombs to be triggered before they reached a secured facility. It is unbelievable that the government would want to sacrifice United States citizens in favor of killing those who were attempting to breach U.S. sovereignty. Hillary Clinton and her team needs to be removed from office. Of course, removing Barack Hussein Obama from the presidency in the upcoming 2012 election cycle is now a mandatory requirement as he and his fellow democrat/socialist/communist travelers have proved to be incompetent and inept when it comes to national security and foreign diplomacy. US Identifies Anti-Muslim Filmmaker Blamed for Attacks WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal authorities have identified a Coptic Christian in southern California who is on probation after his conviction for financial crimes as the key figure behind the anti-Muslim film that ignited mob violence against U.S. embassies across the Mideast, a U.S. law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday. The official said authorities had concluded that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was behind “Innocence of Muslims,” a film that denigrated Islam and the prophet Muhammad and sparked protests earlier this week in Egypt, Libya and most recently in Yemen. Once again, the government can’t keep its mouth shut and appears to be providing information to our enemies in a gratuitous manner for political purposes. Notice that the item is blind-sourced so that nobody needs take responsibility for this egregious action. And that they characterize the film in a manner that acknowledges that the film “denigrates Islam and the prophet Muhammad” which provides a form of official acknowledgement to our enemies – giving them another Obama propaganda victory. It was not immediately clear whether Nakoula was thetarget of a criminal investigation or part of the broader investigation into the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya during a terrorist attack.Attorney General Eric Holder confirmed Thursday that Justice Department officials were investigating the deaths, which occurred during an attack on the American mission in Benghazi. There is no way that an American should be denied his First Amendment rights and be investigated by the Obama government for complicity in what occurred on foreign soil. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation, said Nakoula was connected to the persona of Sam Bacile, a man who initially told the AP he was the film’s writer and director. But Bacile turned out to be a false identity, and the AP traced a cellphone number Bacile used to a southern California house where it located and interviewed Nakoula. These anonymous leaks must stop. Not only do they provide aid and comfort to our enemies, but they appear to disadvantage America in the process. Bottom line … Once again we find Administration officials leaking information that puts Americans at risk. Why is it that the government needs to characterize a film, protected under First Amendment rights, in any manner? Where is the liberal Hollywood chattering class on filmmaker’s rights? Where is Michael Moore defending these filmmakers? And why is the Obama Administration attacking a film that may be telling an historical truth – merely because some religious crazies and terrorists have no tolerance for freedom, free speech and the American way of life.
