North Carolina: Comprehensive Pro-Gun Bill Heads to Governor for Approval Yesterday, the House-Senate conference committee on a critical pro-gun reform bill, House Bill 937, submitted its report that resolved differences between the House and Senate versions of H 937. The state House then passed this legislation by a 73-41 vote, quickly followed by the state Senate on a 32-14 vote. This omnibus firearms reform bill now goes to Governor Pat McCrory (R) for his consideration.READ MORE Pennsylvania: Legislation Introduced to Improve Concealed Carry License Application System This week, state Senator Rich Alloway (R-33) introduced legislation, Senate Bill 1071, that seeks to improve the current concealed carry license application system by allowing an individual to apply for a concealed carry permit in a contiguous county.READ MORE Clerk thwarts robbery, KHOU, Houston, Texas, 07/19/13 Noman Ali was a working the register at a Fuel Expo in Houston, Texas when a man brought some beer to the counter, drew a gun, and demanded cash. Ali handed over some money, but then retrieved a gun and fired at the criminal, striking the robber multiple times before he fled to a nearby car. As he was making his getaway, the criminal crashed his vehicle into a ditch, then attempted to force at least one passerby at gunpoint to take him to a hospital. However, before anyone else could be hurt, police captured the gunman. Ali harbors no ill will towards the criminal, telling a local media outlet, “Crime needs to be stopped and [that’s] it, my goal [was] not to kill him… I’m good, the customers are good.
