NEVADA RANCH GOVERNMENT SIEGE -- REMINISCENT OF WACO AND RUBY RIDGE GOVERNMENT OVERREACTION

NEVADA RANCH GOVERNMENT SIEGE -- REMINISCENT OF WACO AND RUBY RIDGE GOVERNMENT OVERREACTION

Update:  IS IT GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION FROM A PROGRESSIVE SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT WHO WANTS TO AID THE CHINESE TO BUILD A SOLAR PLANT?

It now appears that government corruption may be behind the land grab. Senator Harry Reid, members of his family, and former associates may be involved with BLM changing rules and regulations so that a Chinese Solar company can build a solar plant in the area. If this is true, Harry Reid needs to resign as Senate Majority Leader and be impeached for corruption.  Read more at Breaking: Sen. Harry Reid Behind BLM Land Grab of Bundy Ranch

Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”

In 2012, the New American reported that Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, was the chief representative for a Chinese energy firm planning to build a $5-billion solar plant on public land in Laughlin, Nevada.

The BLM’s official reason for encircling the Bundy family with sniper teams and helicopters was to protect the endangered desert tortoise, which the agency has previously been killing in mass due to “budget constraints.”

“A tortoise isn’t the reason why BLM is harassing a 67 year-old rancher; they want his land,” journalist Dana Loesch wrote. “The tortoise wasn’t of concern when [U.S. Senator] Harry Reid worked with BLM to literally change the boundaries of the tortoise’s habitat to accommodate the development of his top donor, Harvey Whittemore.”

Original Post ...

It appears that the full weight of an out-of-control government bureaucracy is being aligned against a Nevada rancher in a land dispute with the Bureau of Land Management. A situation that could easily become as famous as Waco or Ruby Ridge – both symbols of government oppression and overreaction.

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval …

Governor Brian Sandoval today issued the following statement regarding the Bureau of Land Management’s roundup and reports of organized protests against it:

“Earlier this week, I advised the BLM not to limit or hinder the constitutional rights of Nevadans and be mindful of its conduct. The ability to speak out against government actions is one of the freedoms we all cherish as Americans. Today I am asking all individuals who are near the situation to act with restraint. Although tensions remain high, escalation of current events could have negative, long lasting consequences that can be avoided.”  <Source>

"No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans," Sandoval said in a Tuesday statement. "The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly." He took particular issue with the government's decision to establish a specific area in which residents could protest.  "Most disturbing to me is the BLM's establishment of a 'First Amendment Area' that tramples upon Nevadans' fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution/"

The fight dates to at least 1993, since which Bundy has refused to pay the federal government fees for his grazing cows, according to the Los Angeles Times. In 1998, a federal court told Bundy to stop letting his cows graze there. And, last July, the same court reaffirmed that order, giving Bundy 45 days to remove the cows before the federal government would. They started Saturday, acting on two federal court orders, they said in a statement that day.

"The BLM and the [National Park Service] have made repeated attempts to resolve this matter administratively and judicially," the Nevada BLM statement read. "The agencies are now implementing two Federal District Court orders to remove the cattle. The BLM and NPS are working closely with local, state and federal officials to ensure that removal occurs in a safe and orderly manner." <Source>

What Emergency?

BLM Rangers Brought in From Out of State for Nevada Ranch ‘Emergency’

Armed Rangers were brought in from out of state by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to assist in security surrounding the Bundy Ranch, according to the family. A heated confrontation on Wednesday resulted in Cliven Bundy’s son Ammon being tasered by BLM officials and a 57-year-old protester being shoved to the ground.

“You know, some of these guys don’t even know why they’re here,” she said. “A few people have talked to them and they got called in here on an emergency feed and they didn’t know what it was for, it just said they had to be here.”

“They’re almost like a hired gun,” Cox said. “Because what they’re supposed to do is they each have a road, and are told to stay on that road, and they’re supposed to keep people off that road, whatever means possible. That’s their job. They don’t even know how many cows have been gathered.”

As of Wednesday, 352 cattle have been removed from the public land ranched by the Bundy family for more than a century. An estimated 200 armed officials have surrounded the ranch, the culmination of a dispute dating 20 years over “grazing fees” and the protection of the “desert tortoise.”

A little history lesson …

And, how many people have been taught that the horrific bombing at the Murrah Federal Building was directly caused by the reaction of a self-proclaimed patriot to government overreaction? That Timothy McVeigh and his co-conspirators first considering killing FBI sniper Lon Horichi who was present at both events and who is alleged to have been responsible for starting the Waco firefight and killing Randy Weaver’s wife at Ruby Ridge. In both cases, the government covered up key facts such as the fact that in Waco, they could have easily taken the main suspect into custody as he strolled the downtown streets with his ice cream; and it appears the entire Ruby Ridge event was precipitated by a gun sale where the barrel of a purchased weapon was a fraction of an inch shorter than regulation.

It is one of the most important rules of a dictatorship, make sure your troops do not have friends and relatives on the ground that could dissuade them from firing on citizens. It is helpful if they are brought in from across the country, and preferably do not speak the local language.

What the hell is going on here?

We know that the progressive socialist democrats, the government, and the environmental movement have been infiltrated by socialists and communists who are seeking to destroy America from within. Using outrageous environmental rules and regulations to force the downsizing of America and to kill its western cowboy heritage that stresses freedom and independence over collective control by a ruling elite. So what is at play? Government control over land to protect an endangered species, in this case a desert tortoise? An attempt to reduce cow flatulence to reduce global warming? A hipster vegan dislike of meat eaters and the production of meat? Or simply a bureaucratic power and publicity grab to diminish the rights of the states from which all constitutional federal authority flows.

Bottom line …

It appears that the federal government continues to exert control over vast tracts of land that exist in many states for the simple reason that they can use this land to generate additional income to support a unionized and bloated federal bureaucracy. In a number of cases, we have seen politically-connected individuals given valuable mining and oil rights based on little more than their political connections.

It appears that we have a self-supporting rancher who is helping our nation to feed itself. And, he is being harassed by bureaucrats who are little more than public parasites – using petty causes and issues to justify their pathetic existence.

But the real problem is that the government is trampling the Constitution’s First Amendment by setting up so-called “protest zones” and criminalizing any actions that occur outside these zones. This is a clear and present danger to our democracy. It is time that we remove the progressive socialist democrats from the House and the Senate and start cleaning house by reducing the political influence of the unions that keeps fellow travelers in the government employed against the interests of all Americans.

If you believe this action against a rancher to be outrageous, remember this when you vote.
