[This is tantamount to destroying the weapon’s effectiveness as a deterrent, and does not make the United States one iota safer – and demonstrates to our enemies that our military strength can be bargained away in a political process.] The resulting launch-ready total of 400 Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missiles would be the lowest deployed ICBM total since the early 1960s. The decisions come after a strong push by members of Congress from the states that host missile bases - North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana - to not eliminate any of the silos from which the missiles would be launched.Fifty silos will be kept in "warm" status - empty of missiles but capable of returning to active use. "Nuclear weapons are the centerpiece of our defense strategy, and I will not support any short-sighted effort that threatens our national security." Attorney General Eric Holder disrespects Congress and needs to be impeached -- warns Gohmert (R-TX) to avoid talking about Holder's contempt citation Posted: 08 Apr 2014 03:06 PM PDT There comes a time when the Constitution must be defended by those members of Congress, regardless of their party affiliations, who have taken an oath … “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.”  — U.S. Constitution, Article VI, clause 3 “I, [your name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” --Title 5, Section 3331 of the United States Code. It appears that the Attorney General remains unresponsive to numerous requests from Congress to provide documents to legitimate Congressional oversight committees regarding the actions of various Executive Branch agencies and which are not legitimately subject to a Presidential Exception. While these documents may be embarrassing to the Administration, they may also contain information regarding past and present criminal activity. To withhold documents while claiming there is an ongoing investigation to run out the clock on any statute of limitations or to see that those involved in subject activities have left the government, amounts to a charge of criminal obstruction of justice. Therefore, after the Attorney General was cited for civil Contempt of Congress and the matter referred to the courts, it appears that Congress has little or no choice to defend the United States Constitution from an overly broad abuse of power by the Attorney General and the President of the United States. An abuse which negates the constitutional authority of Congress. See for yourself, how the Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice is willing to provide documents to terrorists and their lawyers, but not to Congress. Bear in mind that documents downloaded from the Internet are not the same as the documents that are handed over to Congress as a result of a legitimate congressional inquiry.  Gohmert: “I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight.,” Holder: “You don’t want to go there, buddy! You don’t want to go there, okay.” Gohmert: “I don’t want to go there?”  Holder: “No.”  Gohmert: “About the contempt?”  Holder: “You should not assume that that is not a big deal to me. I think that it was inappropriate, I think it was unjust. But never think that that was not a big deal to me. Don’t ever think that,” Link to Video Bottom line … I have little or no doubt that the Obama Administration, like no other Administration before them – with the possible exception of the Nixon Administration – has engaged in stonewalling Congress in their attempt to investigate alleged potential criminal activity within the government.
