After more than two years of stonewalling from the Obama administration, House Speaker John Boehner has confirmed he will appoint a Special Committee to investigate Benghazi with Congressman Trey Gowdy leading the way. The Weekly Standard was the first to report a possible announcement of a Select Committee earlier this morning.
Here is the full statement from Boehner on the Select Committee:

Damn the torpedoes - full steam ahead.

Trey Gowdy for Attorney General
No heads are going to roll over Benghazi.
I wouldn't count on this turning out any differently than any other investigation.
I might remind you that all of this could have been avoided had Obama paid attention to foreign policy as it is, not how he envisioned it to be....four of our people died, and he never sent help. Had Obama cared more about our people in harms way, but he didn't; he cared more about his reelection. He never made it to the situation room or talked to Leon Panetta after 4 in the afternoon. He lied for weeks, and then withheld documents. He has nobody to blame but himself...
2) I hope the meticulous Rep. Gowdy will retain some superb tax accountants.
2) Amen to that!
Well, like they say, better late than never.
At least he picked the meanest dog in the pound to lead the way.
Although many of you don't know this you are innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way around. Unless they can prove without a doubt that there was deliberate, calculated misconduct or deliberate attempt to obstruct justice, the level of competence is in the eye of the beholder. In other words, without proven allegations, it becomes a matter of judgment and when that's the case, the benefit of the doubt is given to the accused.
I don't think this will amount to anything
One must never leave a 'Brother in Arms' behind - especially for political reasons.
I do NOT want your help if I am ever in distress, because I do 'NOT TRUST' that you would not abandon me for intellectual or political reasons.
We have no "brothers in distress". The people in Benghazi are all dead. There is nothing we can do for them.
Your emotional outburst just shows that you are not a thinker. In the Army, we would have said that you are not officer material. Officers understand that you focus on your objective. You don't fritter away resources and you don't get emotional.
You do the job you're there to do. That's all that matters.
Now the job we have to do is to beat the Democrats in the upcoming election. We can do that if we don't waste our time, resources, and political capital on issues that simply do not matter to the American electorate. We cannot and should not allow ANYTHING to get in the way of fulfilling that mission. Once the mission is accomplished, THEN we can go take care of the "Brothers in Arms". But until the mission is accomplished, we focus on our mission. MISSION FIRST!
Do you believe that personal freedom involves personal opinion?
Do you think that freedom means dictating what people can believe?
What is your definition of personal freedom?
Why Stevens, who died of smoke inhalation in the first of two attacks that took place late Sept. 11 and early Sept. 12, 2012, would turn down the offers remains unclear. The deteriorating security situation in Benghazi had been the subject of a meeting that embassy officials held Aug. 15, where they concluded they could not defend the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi. The next day, the embassy drafted a cable outlining the dire circumstances and saying it would spell out what it needed in a separate cable.
“In light of the uncertain security environment, US Mission Benghazi will submit specific requests to US Embassy Tripoli for additional physical security upgrades and staffing needs by separate cover,” said the cable, which was first reported by Fox News.
Army Gen. Carter Ham, then the head of the U.S. Africa Command, did not wait for the separate cable, however. Instead, after reading the Aug. 16 cable, Ham phoned Stevens and asked if the embassy needed a special security team from the U.S. military. Stevens told Ham it did not, the officials said.
So apparently what Conservatives are saying is General Carter Ham is a liar....Got it.
Dingy Harry Reid, the leader of his money grubbers in the Senate.
Hail to Chief, if you can figure out where he is / was.
One simply does not leave comrades behind without attempting rescue.
They're DEAD. This is not going to "rescue" them.
